That is Big Mikes (unreelviper) from the va/md viper club. He's a good guy so I trust him that it is a nice product. I would buy it myself for my '06 coupe, but I found out this year that the intake for the '06 is actually slightly different than '03-05'.

That intake shouldn't ever get hot enough to affect chrome. Think of all the el-cheapo chrome valvecover kits out there on old musclecars, that get oil splashed directly on them. Those parts get much hotter than an intake manifold with air rushing through it.

I have seen these in person and there is a good reason they powder the bottom. The casting and the chrome look horrible and most of them all have looked copper on the bottom half. I think the chrome and red is a great combo IMHO.

Mark are you saying the chrome should hold up over time?

Can anyone vouch for this seller?

It looks killer. I know I painted my buddies intake manifold on his LS7 with headers and the paint is holding up perfect. I would think chrome would too.

Yes the chrome that is on a polished surface (top) should be fine from what I have seen. The bottom of those are not what I consider "chromed" though.

We have a winner. $2,025 for the intake. I cant even make sense of that purchase. For that price i will chrome mine and sell it for $2,000 with a core exchange. Any takers?

Congrats Unreelviper...

I have been told that chroming the intake is not a good idea. It doesn't dissipate heat as well. The chrome acts as a barrier and holds heat, therefore, affecting performance. Polishing is a better way to go....

Is it true that it will chip and flake easier especially with the added heat if going chrome intake instead of polishing?
