I wont say what dodge dealership it was but here goes my short story..

1-3 months ago noticed car was running weaker than usual

2-went and dynoed and hit 330 rwhp when should have been around 470 rwhp

3-Changed the plugs and checked the wires..Redynoed to 335 rwhp

4-2 weeks later sent 2003 Viper to said Dodge dealer ship

5-Told them plugs and wires were done/checked two weeks ago..Yet they insisted on doing them before they did everything else

6-received bill for 600$ for spark plugs wires

7-One week later they say it's a broken roller rocker and will be covered under warranty

8-The next day they say my Harland Sharps are after market and wont be covered. I then bring them the paper work showing that the roller rockers were purchased through Arrow Racing and installed by a Dodge dealership

9-They say that the roller rockers will be covered under warranty

10-One week later they say that they ordered the wrong roller rockers

11-2 weeks later they again say they ordered the wrong roller rockers

12-A week later they say that the roller rockers are not stock and a reviewer said that they will not cover the broken roller rocker under warranty

13-They tell me 1500$ for the roller rockers and 850$ for the install

14-I say your full of crap and lied to me all this time and told them to have my car ready the next day and that I would do the roller rockers my self

15-I pick up the car only to see that the valve covers were lazily put back together and their is a rusted metal OBJECT holding up my dip stick with a loose bolt..As well my carpets are drenched wett and the windshield wipers are now trying to rest against my hood due to being put back on incorrectly after removing the manifold to do the wires..The hood is scrathed ( very minor) when oipened due to the now very to little winshield wiper clearance

16-I complain and a mechanic comes out and writes down everything I complain about

17- 3 days later the head guy calls me up and apologizes and ask me what we can do to fix this...I say..Well I can get stock roller rockers on the cheap and you guys install them. In the mean time go fix all these problems..He agrees

18-I spend 300$ on used roller rockers/pushrods that will arive in a few days

19-Today the dealership calls me up and says that the car is fixed????How I ask..Oh the roller rocker was never actually broken but just needed to be tourqued down

YOUGOTTABEFINGKIDDINGME

2 months of drama and lies for a roller rocker they inspected 2 months ago that could have just been tourqued down!!!!!!!!!

Dont take your car to a dealership..The 1500$ I spent for the max care is the biggest joke out there...

Im basically out 1,000$ for a roller rocker that needed to be re- tourqued

Sh-t happens. Probably had an apprentise work on your car? Not all Chrysler Dealerships have VIPER TECHS. I would check and see if that was who worked on your car.

If not, I'd go to the Dealership owner and talk about restitution.

Aren't you the same guy who has been telling everyone that you are having your dealer install the CC cam and now rear gears? Make up your mind, dealer or no dealer! :dunno:

Dont take your car to a dealership

So, basically you are saying all dealerships are bad and all of their mechanics are bad because you had this experience with one place that you don't want to embarass by naming publicly?

We have a highly recommended tech at our local dealership that I would trust any time. I hear that there is a dealership in New York state that does pretty good, and one somewhere around Nebraska. There are probably some other places that have competent mechanics also.

The dealership I went to has a Viper tech....I still got screwed..

As to my CC camshaft ect. It's on back order..maybe the end of this month or early next month it will arrive..But Im pretty scared to let them do it at this point..

I have a shop that did the supercharger on my fbody and 2 differant cams/heads ect in my C5...I think I will stick with them..

Look man....Id go to Chuck tator in a heart beat..He's actually who im dealing with for the CC cam and possible ported heads/VC3 package...But surely after my experience many dealerships are no where near his caliper...I only wish it would'nt cost me 3 grand to shipp him the car and have it returned to me.

Stick to the gearhead F-body/C5 shop. :2tu:

They do that work all the time and know the ins and outs, plus they may end up being more conscientious of your vehicle since their livelihood depends on the reputation they keep with their customers. Unlike the dealership.

Plus, Viper Tech or not.... how many mechanics have actual experience installing cams? Ok, of those who do how many have a LOT of experience installing cams... and/or working on Vipers?

A cam is not a difficult project, just a tedious one. If you're practiced or have done several on a given model it can be done pretty quickly. Stick to the gearhead shop that has experienced guys. My logic on this one is: would it be better to have the dealership install it and have it warrantied but possibly screwed up along with other things and always be in their power (the never-ending circle of warranty work and frustration), or would you rather have the job done and have no worries? (or at least fewer worries) :dunno:

told you that a while ago.....glad you are thinking now.

MOST dealers are clueless and like said above, they probably had the new kid doing the work on it..

I talked to a local dealer around here that has a viper tech but most viper techs don't ever get into performance modifications. I would more likely trust a shop that puts turbos, superchargers, cams, heads on cars daily and has a dyno on site then any dodge dealership at least around me.

Sorry for your troubles but, Not all Dealers are created equal:nono:

You have to go to a dealer who see's a lot of Vipers, not a dealer with a Viper tech that only see's a few cars a year. It's like going to a regular doctor for heart surgery, instead of a cardiologist.

You don't want just a "Viper Tech" you want a "Viper Specialist"

We are fortunate to have Scotty"The Wrench" here in North NJ :2tu:
