the final G-2 Viper gets built today, and OFFICIALLY finishes Monday at a press event at CAAP. 1463 2002 Vipers. Final breakdown in a few days. Jay will post info soon, so PLEASE dont start badgering / e-mailing for figures now. Thanks.

Ironic trivia:

The final GTS is being badged and built and hooplahs and auctioned off for 121K......but the final RT/10 was built and LOST months ago. Why lost? It went unnoticed, and un-ordered, and uncermoniously sent to AUSTRALIA. Where it is being converted to RHD probably as we speak, unknown to the Aussie owners. The last RT/10 would have certainly held some collectible significance, but it is "lost" at this time. Sad.

A very sad day indeed. The meanest looking production car is over with........ Sad Sad indeed. Perhaps in a few years with some design changes the new viper will looks nice too.

Thanks Jon,

These facts couldn't have come from a better person. Jon is, and will always be, the true Viper Trivia expert!

Congratulations Dodge, and especially our friends at CAAP, that made this car one that will go down in history for breaking the commonplace mold that we had come to expect out of Detroit!

Here's to the past decade of horsepower, performance and fun, and here's to another decade of MORE horsepower, MORE performance, and MORE fun!

LONG LIVE VIPER!

Well, we can only hope that once DC see's that new "production line" Viper does not have the same "wow" effect that the Gen 1 and Gen 2 ( GTS,GTSR,ACR and RT/10)....They will bring out a Gen3 agressive style......
Now do not get me wrong, The new Viper is a very nice car on its own and will appeal to many, I just think it is not the same as the Gen1 and Gen2's agressive style and looks

Thanks to Bob Lutz, Tom Gale, Francois Castaing, (sp?) and all at Team Viper, and anyone I missed, for making such a memorable and historic car. You have made a big impact in the automotive world, that continues to reverberate through our hearts. Great job!

Here's hoping the SRT will kick butt the world over! I'm sure it will!

ps. I'm glad I got a GTS, its the car of my dreams! Thanks again!

Shame there wasn't some final farewell ceremony or something (like we had for the Impala that Friday the 13th.) I kinda feel robbed of the closure.

When my Final Edition GTS gets here I will have 3 Vipers which will have a permanent home in my new garage (ground breaking tomorrow!). I can't imagine selling any of them. I have never been so moved by a car. After all of these years of ownership I still go out to the garage at bed time to look at them. Thank you Dodge for enriching my life and giving it a little more meaning. My God, I think I'm going to cry!

Guys, Guys, Guys......

Ease up! Get control of yourselves. It's a CAR! What's with all the "SAD" stuff? What, did you all turn into a bunch of women? I have my Viper, you guys have yours, who cares about today's 16 year olds......oh gee, they won't have the same Viper we have? Should we crawl up in a corner now or later....

I feel like I want to smack some of you in the head, like Brando did in "The Godfather" when the singer guy was crying about not getting a part in a movie.

If our cars could speak, they'd smack you themselves. BE A MAN!

Life could be worse!

And by the way, Some of the quotes that are starting to appear at the bottom of everyone's signatures are getting to me also. Enough with the enlightening thoughts already. If I wanted to read philosophy, I'd go back to college.

It's a car, yes. No one cared about the last hemi 'cuda in 71 until the late 80s, I guess in 20 years someone will care about the last coupe a bit more than I do.
