Got any fault codes?

Pull a plug wire, hold it with something insulated, near chassis ground. Got spark on all ten cylinders? You can also just plug the wire onto a spare spark plug, and hold the plug threads onto ground with something insulated. Watch for the spark in the plug gap.

How did you degree the cam?

check fuses and your cam sensor. Do you know how to correctly install it? It's not just a push in the hole and plug in the wire deal.

Check to see if the ground strap is connected. I changed head gaskets years ago and the engine would not start. We discovered the ground strap was not connected. Just a thought - Good luck!!

mrbob...sorry about the cam sensor...will add that I have heard of folks going through 3 of them before getting it right. Service Manual is pretty good on this issue.

What year Gen I ? Do your fobs work?

Reset of alarm (IF it is in shutdown) NOT so simple on 92's and 93's...can help you per PHONE if that is the issue AFTER you redo cam sensor.

Just some more info - one of the ground wires for the O2's and ECU is attached to the engine at the front of the AC compressor. It originates at the back/bottom of the a/c compressor. That will give you some issues, but, it still should start. Have you used a scan tool, just because you do not have a SEL, does not mean you do not have a soft code in the ECU.

I wouldn't drive it with it running that lean up top. Might have to send your cam/head specs to a tunner for a good base tune.

GOOD news, mrbob !!

Actually it was Dan Cragin (the ALL knowing founder/ head dude at DC Performance) who first mentioned the alarm as a possibility. One has to agree that this is a GREAT forum !!!
