figured from all the talk and post in a number of threads the resale value deserves its own thread.
this is only my opinion.

let me say i love the gen v viper and see a opportunity building to be able to get one at a price that's to good not to buy, THANK YOU DODGE MARKETING!

the base srt 2013 will be selling at 50k plus before oct 1, 2014 - it is what it is

the base gts 2013 & 2014 will also be selling at 50k by jan 1, 2015 - again it is what it is

MARKETING AND REVIEWS KILLED THE VALUE BEFORE ANYONE EVEN TOOK DELIVERY.

The only gen v that will hold any value will be the TA edition BUT that will also become a great buy at under 79k used

This gen v is tanking and we all see it, again it is what it is.

The talk is showing a gen 4 ACR is as good a buy as the most optioned gen v gts priced at 140k plus sticker , might i say used gen v below 69k!!!!!!

its a great time to get a great car at a UNREAL PRICE- again it is what it is!

There is no way we will see a 50k gen 5 car for at least a few of years. - again it is what it is

What simply boggles my mind is why a guy who at BEST owned an Gen 2 eons ago would feel the need to write such an idiotic post.
If Gen V's are 50K, what will the previous generations be, free?

Have another drink.

OK I'm sure this post upsets owners of the gen V, sorry but as I said it is what it is.

example - Dman NEEDS TO SELL HIS GEN v ASAP. he found a dealer willing to give him 82k plus, NOW THATS A DEAL!

My advice would be any early buyers of the gen v should call this dealer and take him up on his offer. WHY? because you could go back to him jan 1, 2015 and buy it back 25k less then what you sold it to him for. That way you come close to the HUGE DISCOUNTS other dealers have sold the gen V for,it would be like a rebate after the fact. Doing this if the dealer really will pay 82k right now for a used viper with little to no demand would at the least get you back 25k of your initial investment. IT IS WHAT IT IS !!!!

WANTED what is the purpose of this thread? It is an absolute jumbo mumbo. As a dealer myself i just :dunno: and then:lmao:and then:mad: You are like chicken little…."the sky is falling the sky is falling. This thread attributes to the ocean of corvettes that are overproduced and the market is flooded with them.

The average base SRT Gen V will not be in the $50's as you claim by Oct 1st.

You will see perhaps a salvage, someone that needs to sell theirs in a day, but to think the average Gen V will sell in the $50's is just crazy.

Even without the MOPAR PCM, HPTuners PCM, forced induction all out soon, it would mean the value of every single other previous Viper would drop to about $10,000 - save for perhaps Gen IV ACRs.

There simply would be no market for them being able to buy a V at $50,000. Period.

It really isn't a big shock a dealer offered $82k, that's less than $15000 off invoice for his car (which isn't bad at all) - yet you think it will lose an additional $32k in 3 months?

I mean, I agree with ViperJon whenever someone posts "will Vipers be collectible" and increase in value, but this is just preposterous. SRTs will settle in the mid-upper $70's used, you'll maybe be able to pickup a random new one in high $60's - but that will be extremely rare.

Started overpriced with too many maxed-out GTSs. With discounts presently offered ($20+, price is settling to where it should have in the first place. My Gen 3 coupe sticker was mid $80s. My 2013 base is worth another $15k in comparison. I don't see values changing for this car..... with 640hp n/a, a far superior interior, a/c that gives my fingers frostbite, and whereas my Gen 3 tried to kill me, this ones just scares me (traction control has saved me twice.).

You pay more for a low production automobile. Soon there will be as many C7s as all the vipers produced since 1992.

Sounds like someone who will be shopping for a gen5 in about 90 days and is starting eArly to affect the market. LoL

I believe the floor will be $75k'ish in the fall.

Since you felt strong enough about this to create a thread, why not place your bets.

If we all see the stable floor price of gen5s in the $50k's come Oct, we'll do a thread on how smart Wanted is. If that's not the price, you post a fresh thread stating how you were wrong. (Non salvage of course)

Players?

Sorry Wanted.

You are a good driver, no doubt. I think you are too low on the price. 50k? Selling for less than a tricked out Lincoln MKS? Tens of thousands less than a F type?

While I get your point that the price is decreasing, you still have other market forces that will prop up the value of the car, such as "Would I rather have a Mustang or a Viper". I think that should speak volumes.

Wanted, you remind me of guys that said before the G5 came out, "if I can get one at sticker I can flip it for $10K more" They didn't know the viper market and I don't think you do either. (But I really don't think you believe the prices you posted , instead you've got an axe to grind or are just seeking attentiton).

If you do beleive this is where the market is headed, then I've got a proposal for you. I'll buy a forward contract from you for 5 used G5's at $50K in January '15 and I'll pay you $5K a car now for the option. ('13's or '14's any model, any color, no salvage and under 10K miles) Send me a pm and we can discuss legal agreements. thanks, Mike

Uh...Gen 3s (low mileage) are still low 40s, Gen 4s, you can't touch 'em much under 60....so a Gen 4 will cost more than a Gen 5? In what Bizzarro world?

This will be the next excuse for people not to buy them since we've worked through all the others

Just received delivery of my Gen V last week! It's a new '13 SRT Race Yellow with the Grand Touring Package, Track Package, and leather seats.
I'm very happy with it, best Viper ever!

Hope you got a steal of a price
You must be registered for see images attach

Almost went with yellow myself, if the SRT would have had full stripes I would have done black stripes - ViperSmith post

MSRP was $112k, I got it for $88,250 -post date 6/14/2014

AND THER IS A DEALER BUYING AT 82K PLUS USED - DONT WALK TO THAT OFFER , RUN TO IT

I will find more like this and post them just to let you know I'm not off base on the price levels - purchase price not a offer!

$112k sticker - bought at $88,250 - 30 % depreciation would be roughly $62k

And this is June 14, 2014

Geez...your sentence structure reminds me of my son. When he was six.
Guess you haven't read the other posts here about your ludicrous statement.
Time after time you make these ridiculous threads usually punctuated with huge fonts and kindergarten grammar with some inane viewpoint. Did you notice not a soul agrees with you?

By the way, who cares what you once owned?
Last time you were in one you smashed into a telephone pole. Wasn't that like a decade ago?

You are a *****.

It is what it is.

NEVER have I attacked anyone personally in the way you just did. In my original post I stated it was ONLY MY OPINION. I am up to date on car values and stated this would not make a gen V owner happy about my post, however, it is what it is. I look at it this way if someone visits this form I would hope they get good, accurate and truthful advice as to what they can buy a genv for. no need for you to reply back as I never personally insulted you but you felt the need to do so, I'll just leave it at that.

I think like all that 50s is too low, maybe low 70s for SRTs. Let's keep this thread open and let's revisit this at Xmas time to see who's right.
By the way congrats on the new snake.
My local dealer finally has 6 in stock and will let me drive one. It will happen next week :). His discount is not high enough compared to Tomball and I really want a carbon edition one but I don't think anyone will deal on it so I will probably have to wait a year or so. Patience is a virtue.
My other thought right now is to buy one and wrap it so if I can find a GTS for $10Xish I may jump the bandwagon.

$10k off invoice for a 1yo car is hardly earth shattering.
