I just tried to clip on the front license plate holder on the new 06' Coupe and the driver side piece won't clip on the bottom of the bumper because the hood release is in the way. It can't be moved either because the hood release is molded into the black filler panel(or whatever you call the piece between the bumper slots). I can't put the plate toward one side of the bumper either because the bumper tapers down to a smaller size and there would not be a snug fit. Plus it would really block the airflow through the radiator not to mention looking stupid.
I'll have to ask him if there is any other aftermarket front license plate holder I could go with unless anyone here knows of a place I can get one.
Either that, or pay a $100 fine everytime a cop see's me without a front plate. There should be a law that lets drivers with real sports cars go without a front license plate.

I received my tag mount today from Jon and it fit perfectly on my 06 Coupe. The driver's side of the bracket slides in between the hood release and the center portion of the facia. Disassemble the tag from the brackets, slide the brackets into place, mark where to attach the tag to the brackets, remove everything, and assemble on the workbench. Good luck. BTW, mine will go in the trunk and hopefully I can beg forgiveness if necessary.

I did try placing both pieces on the bumper seperately and there is not enough space inbetween the hood latch release and the center portion of the fascia on the driver side. The hood release molded bracket is almost right up against the center fascia on the inside and there is not enough room for the bottom piece of the bracket to squeeze inbetween. Could it be that the assembly plant has my hood bracket molded in a different position then yours and/or other coupes?:dunno:

Actually mine doesn't fit between the bracket and the center facia, it snaps over the back of that molded bracket. Try pushing it in and it should snap and lock over it.

Just received my front plate holder for 06 coupe.
Do you drill holes where my finger is pointing in order to screw the license plate on?
You must be registered for see images attach

Also, as you can see in this pic, when I move both pieces as close together as I can the plate holes do not line up unless I bend one of the holders slightly. I assume this is normal?

Yes, that is the exact problem I ran into with my license plate bracket when I ordered it back in 07'.
I believe what you said is true about the factory assembling the hood release bracket slightly different than other Vipers. I also did not have enough space inbetween the hood release and the center fascia. I ended up throwing the piece away. I called John from PartsRak and he seemed to think I was doing something wrong, but it is a no brainer.... The hood latch release is mounted too close to the center fascia on my 06". I tried to fit it on the passenger side but it did not fit snug and I was concerned about the paint wearing off from it vibrating. Its a shame that the money is wasted.

I just made it fit by bending it a bit, I will not be displaying it unless a cop stops me anyway so no big deal.

Pretty paint sir... I honestly don't know... Just saying I'm glad New Mexico doesn't require front plates :)

x2 for Louisiana!! Here, the only front plates you see are the ones bought from a booth at the state fair...and you can usually relate the driver to what the plates say...
