Ok, now that I have a '01 GTS ACR, I need to know more about the specs and capabilities of this great car.

1) What does ACR stand for?
2) What differentiates the ACR from the regular GTS, other that suspension?
3) What are the trap speeds and quarter mile times typical for this car?
4) What is the top speed?

I'm a sponge, the more information the better.

Seats look Awesome!! How did you modify the brakets? (a kit or custom fab?) Do you have any problem with the seatbelts? Are the seats 'take off'?

Nice!!

Where do you get your stats dude?

I guess I just wouldn't think that an ACR would be that much slower than the Gen 2 GTSes and RT/10s.

The top speed of an 01 RT/10 has been tested to 185 mph, and a gen II gts has been tested to 192 mph by car and driver.

My best time in my bone stock 98 RT/10 has been 11.8 @119.5 mph.

Hi Mike,

I got the GEN III seats from Shelby3. They required some modifications to the brackets and some simple fabrication. Here's a post I made a while back.

I modified the new seat rails and fabricated mounting brackets to work with my GTS.

I can tell you that the Gen III seats are far superior to the Gen II seats in comfort and construction. The construction is much more substantial, the side bolsters and the ultrasuede keep you glued in. As you can see from the pics, the seating portion is approximately 2" longer so there's more support under the thighs.

The only downside I see is that its probably not the right thing for a really large person. For those who require a seat lowering kit, this is probably not for you. Because of the size and construction of the new seats, you'll probably sit slightly higher and slightly forward of the original seats.

Andy,

Congrats on a great 1/4 time. To answer your question, I got my stats from the Viper Registry (the link is in my first post in case you missed it). If you look at the top of the page you'll find the link that'll take you there. I believe that the quickest time listed for a stock Viper is 11.787 sec. I was answering the original question of "what is a typical time." Since times vary greatly depending on track/weather conditions, altitude and driver skills, I didn't think that 11.787 would accurately depict a "typical time" (IMHO). The time of 12.6 was from a stock 96 and IMHO represents the question "typical time." of course your blazing fast time of 11.8 would make you "atypical."

As for the top speed, I also have the magazine road test article where the Viper tops out at 192 MPH. I just chose to use the speed listed in the Viper Registry. If my information is inaccurate then I humbly apologize and encourage you to notify Jay Herbert of the errant information in the Viper Registry. :D

Your time of 11.8 makes you #2 on the list. You should update it. Here's the link IVR records BTW, if you've been to 185 in your RT, congrats on that too! :D

VPRVENM97: what made you decide to swap your Gen 2 seats for those of the SR-10?

COMFORT AND THEY SQUEZZE YOU O SO TIGHT :D

That's exactly it! They're much more comfortable for me and they hold so much better during those lateral G situations. :D

The stock seats didn't extend all the way to the break in my knee. As you can see in the pics, the Gen III seats extend forward further, supporting the legs more. Much better for the long drives. Plus the ultrasuede breathes better and keeps you glued in position. :2tu:

I don't think the newer ACR's had Koni shocks. Those were known as "Rattlers" b/c of the rattling sound they made. Dodge switched to another brand due to complaints.
Did Chuck Tator ever reveal his cure for the rattling?
