For those of you who painted the hood pad with high-temp paint, what type if paint did you use? The only kind I can find is Dupli-Color Engine enamel. It has cermaic in it, and all coats have to go on within the first hour or wait a week.

Thanks,
Chris

Do you mean to paint the snake logo? I used a coat of flat black 'BBQ grill' primer (quick drying, soaks in), then added color including black with brake caliper paint. I picked up a piece of plastic and traced the snake, then used an exacto knife to cut out a stencil.

No need for anything special.

Here's mine

I got the paint from Home Depot

These were the colors and they match the white and the blue pretty good. That's been over a year ago and no problems. No sign of fading or anything

I used the Dupli-Color paint. Price was about the same as Painter's Choice and since it was high-temp I went with it. You do have to follow their directions and let the paint cure for 7 days if you don't get all your coats on in an hour. It will stop absorbing and start running if you don't follow directions. Bit of a PITA but works well. When I was finished with the graphics, I sprayed an entire can of clear coat over the whole pad to seal everything. This is not a good quality pic but here's my final product:

Thanks for the info. I've got a ROE SC, and I'm a bit concerned about under hood temps.

For the dupli-color, what did you use for primer?

I used Dupli Color ceramic black, non-gloss, for the primer. I actually painted the entire pad black before doing the graphics. I think I used 1.5 cans of black paint to get a good base. I used semi-gloss black under the viper logo and for outlines in sneaky pete to make them pop a bit.
