Not to worry, I know everybody buys cars for different reasons. Some prefer to drive them as much as possible (me), while others prefer to lock them away and admire them in a climate-controlled garage every once in a while. For those of you with black and silver GTS's that don't get out much, here is what they look like after a nice 440 mile roadtrip:

I actually shot that picture at the car wash just before carefully blasting away the insect remains. It isn't really even that good a representation. The windshield was almost opaque and the front end had double what the camera picked up. 'Tis the season! Of course, the track-rats just laugh at this picture, knowing what their cars look like after a weekend on the twisties. They just don't bring a camera with them...

Hope my garage-only friends enjoy the picture and that you don't have recurring nightmares from this!

You mean YOU DRIVE YOUR VIPER??????? How could you? I get abused every year for bringing my Viper to the Club car show DIRTY. But the best part is that I usually win a trophy just for having the balls to show it that way! You can always see a clean one, but one with dirt is RARE.

Great shot Chris!

That looked like my car the other day after coming home from school. Good luck washing that out!

I can't be beat. Not cleaned my Viper fro over 12 months. Work and lethargy mostly. I'm getting it done next week though.

Hah -- I have you beat. There exists a picture of my yellow RT/10 just after spinning into the MUD at about 80 mph at Buttonwillow raceway. When you're on the track, you have to have your windows open, and we were rotating as we spun into the swampy area before the hill. I not only got chunks of mud and dirty water all over the outside of the car, but a spray of mud and water came in through the passenger window (coating the interior and occupants) and then a moment later through the driver's window as we completed our rotation. Even after a professional cleaning we're still finding spots the mud got to --Doug tells me the floor of his shop had a coating of dirt after they pulled the motor and found the area above the transmission caked!

Morals: (1) don't spin into the mud (2) it's a car, not an art object -- drive it!!

Glad to see you drive it!

I have over 51,000 hard miles on my Black/Silver. However, I have mine detailed every week or so which allows me to continue to take "Best Of Show" in every event I enter. I do admit though that I don't drive my Viper in bad weather, and park it in the Winter. I guess I enjoy both worlds.

P.S.: I do have the climate control, but it's for the other cars...

My snake goes out to play what ever the weather. Here's a pic of his behind after a particularly dirty day out!
