How do you solve issue of going on "angled" driveway or high speed bump?

Hey guys,
I am on my way (typing from the airport) to get my 05 yellow buty. With having time on my hands now I searched this forum and couldn't find the answer to my question. My concern is that my driveway has somewhat steep angle. I am sure I will be scraping the front of the car, and I really want to avoid it. What do you guys use or do to avoid this "drive way" scraping?
Back when I had a C5 I used small skate roller wheels with harness (purchased from some of the corvetterforum vendors) attached to the frame rails. When ever I needed to get up on a steep driveway these little rollers would let me do it without scraping the car. Is there something similar available for Vipers?

I bought 6 2x4's each about 3 feet wide, then I lay down 5 for the inside wheels at the bottom of my driveway and 1 for the outside wheels. It props up the inside of the car as I approach from an angle high enough to keep the front fascia safe. This is temporary until I can build a little ramp to prop up the inside wheels.

Yeah, we just enter at a 45 degree or so angle slowly. No bother with any type of device under the frame! And, WELCOME to the VIPER community~! Enter angle (as already stated by the sages above) and speed are the keys - make sure you drive slow enough that suspension lifts and not compresses the front end even lower

If I had a 4x4 viper with 5 inches of wheel to fender gap:omg::D I wouldn't mount roller skate wheels on it either:crazy2:...you would see those goofy looking things for sure...in fact you guys can even see the cars behind you from underneath your car:lmao:

The bottom of my bumper is getting scraped up pretty bad...maybe I can find some sort of stick on plastic to allow the bumper to slide across what ever I'm rolling over.

that roller kit for the vettes worked good. I if they made them for the vipers I'd buy them.

We've never had a problem going up an angle very very S-L-O-W-L-Y so the TIRE hits first, ya know? (Don't have any curb rash under front fascia) ~juli

Well yeah angle is ofcourse the way to go for most of the cases, but when you have a single car lane driveway and some ass parked his car on street rignt next to your garage exit, the angle thing can be very treaky if not imposible. For these kind of times I was hopping to get some kind of protections. Oh and those skate wheels were hidden preety good on the C5, unless you were bending all the way down under the car ;-) you wouldn't be able to see them.

the angle of the dangle is invertionally proportioned to the heat of...

oh...sorry.

Easy does it...I have a pretty weird driveway as well...if you enter at speed, you will scrape even on a bicycle...you have to enter slowly at an angle...once you are able to do it once, then following times would be A LOT easier...good luck and enjoy the ride!

I too have this problem of scraping the botton edge of the front of the car when entering my drive :( Even at a angle it just touches!
Have any viper owners toyed with the idea of Air suspension for the front of the car? :dunno:

Trouble is over here it likes to rain, so our roads are cambered, so in effect you go slightly down hill to then go up into the drive :(

I know of three methods as my driveway is the same. 1. Pulling up at the extreme angle as others have said and that seems to work. 2. 2X12 wood ramps about three feet long which work great but you have to get out and put them down every time you pull in. Kind of a pain but as I said, works great. 3. Snakeoyl products offers a ski like attachment that goes under the front facia of the car. You can't see unless you look under and they say there is no drilling involved. Supposed to work real well and I have not heard any complaints.

I rented a jack hammer and tore up my driveway apron, re-graded it and poured in some new ashphalt. Screw the backing in, angling non-sense. Just do it right.

I have driven the car everywhere and it is still on... I kind of came up with a variation of angling. It works good for me.

Like the others said, GO SLOW, anytime you have a doubt about scraping. Let the people in the "regular" cars honk their horns. They are just jealous that they don't have ant reason to go slow.;)
Besides, I usually can't hear any horns over the catless exhaust..:D

I go over the the bump two maybe three times. Hope this makes sense:
Approach the curb slowly at about a 20-30 degree angle (almost parallel). After your two front tires are over curb, stop. In this position you wont scrape, BUT you are at too great an angle to finish the turn and continue up the drive. Next, turn the wheels the other way, back up 2-3 ft. (Horns will be blowing...)Then turn your wheels back into the driveway (original direction before backing up) and continue on up the drive. Sometimes I have to go back and forth several times on an abrupt curb... Oh well. Works great.

I have to be very careful with the crappy streets in vegas and the love of speed bumps that would bottom out a hummer But I can get over just about any size bump or steep slope with the right angle. To get in my driveway I have to approach from the curb then turn sharp so my front tire on the right side goes up first then once one tire is up your good.
