Ok, I admit I am lazy and don't want to pull the cover off the sleeping snake to get to the manual, and I figure there is someone that knows this off the top of their head, so please excuse the nature of this question. How many quarts of oil does a Gen IV take with oil/filter change? Will be doing this weekend and need to buy oil. Thanks!

I believe it's 11 quarts of oil.

There are dozens of posts as to which is the "best" oil to use that can be found under the search option.

Autozone had a half price case of Mobile 1, recently and many on here jumped on that offer, not sure if anyone has any specials now.

Thanks to all that posted. I am going to do Mobil 1 15w50 with Mopar Oil Filter 05038041AA. If we don't get a bunch of snow tomorrow, will get-er-done Saturday. Anyone else going to VIR March 14-15 with 10 10ths group? If so, I will see you there!

I will have to check my '08 owners manual. There was a yellow addendum card that had come with my manual and I could have sworn it said to put in 11 quarts instead of ten.

My 09 ACR likes 10.5 quarts with filter per oil change.

It took a little bit but I was able to get a pic of the addendum card from my '08 owners manual. Oil change with filter for a GEN IV. 11 quarts.

Geez people. Buy 11 quarts of oil and fill it up until the dipstick's top indicator line reads full (on a level surface). The capacity on the spec sheet may say 11 quarts but remember you are not filling it up for the first time. Also, add oil to the new filter prior to screwing it on.

Hard to read the dipstick with clean Mobil 1 , but just go by the specs --- it is definitely 11 qts. and if you have been putting in less, go top it off.

Best to use the Viper Specific oil filter ,also , in my opinion.
