I've started to only keep mine on the visor. Since I do travel into Va. (where they are outlawed), the visor is far harder for them to spot than on the dash. On the visor, all I have to do is unplug it from the cig. lighter if they roll up behind me, and with the red numbers gone, it just blends in with the rest of the blackness. I use black electrical tape to run the wire down the post . Since I use it in my truck too, I don't want to hard wire it in.

I got the remote display so I don't have to worry about anyone else seeing the red lights. I have my wife's van wired for it when we take trips, and the display sits right in front of the steering wheel. I think the Valentine is one of the best investments I've made, and it has paid for itself at least 10 times over.
