Re: I will be joining the SRT-10 ranks soon! \'05 VCA Viper Yellow!
I am very excited about the car. I have a few questions about the SRT-10. How is it different from my GTS driving wise? Is there any must mods for the SRT-10? How do you like your SRT-10's? Can you tell the power difference stock GTS to SRT-10? Do you get as many looks as the GTS?

Congrats on your '05! I suspect you will have a ball with that SRT and will really appreciate the convertible aspect most of the year in New Mexico. As to your questions, here are my opinions, in order of the questions asked:
1. Driving wise you will find the car to be a little bit more stiff, but also tighter on corners. The road holding has increased and you can tell. Some like the seats (I love 'em), others find them a bit uncomfortable. It has no adjustable lumbar support. Definitely a lot of fun to drive!
2. Must mods? Well, I would say that the first thing is a shorter throw shift knob from MGW. Next up would probably be the K&N filter kit from PartsRack. The other mod which has earned unanimous rave reviews is a 3.55 gear set. Some also have been pleased by high-flow cats or deleting them altogether.
3. LOVE the SRT-10. Drives great, handles incredible, brakes that can literally make you light-headed when you stand on them, and is just a blast to drive.
4. Power difference between a stock GTS & stock SRT seems to be around the advertised 50 HP. But because the SRT has a taller rear tire, it makes for an even poorer final drive ratio - somebody suggested 2.93 or so. Result is that the power difference seems neglible stock-to-stock. Throw in 3.55's and the car really, really wakes up - or so I have been told numerous times. Realize that with your current GTS mods that your SRT will feel slower to be sure.
5. In a nutshell, the SRT will probably not draw the looks of the GTS. Of course with a "normal" SRT vs. a blue/white GTS the GTS will win hands down. A bright yellow SRT with black wheels? I suspect that it will even things out a little bit, although the GTS body style will always look more exotic in my opinion.
Bottom line? You will LOVE your new car and all that it does. We will look forward to meeting you in Dallas!
