MoparMan - i agree with that. Vegas is a different world though... Some people would park theirs anywhere as its not a big deal to them. After seeing what people have on the table at Mandalay Bay, I dont think 60K is a big deal to them. Lots of $$$$ in Vegas, & to some a Viper is just another drop in the bucket...

LVMS is the only place I've gone drag racing since I moved here and I haven't taken the Viper yet (I've only been once this year). The good news is that the season at LVMS is pretty much year round so if you want to go, there are alot of opportunities to do so.

As for the ash tray, I guess I never thought of that since my car is a GTS. However, I waited a long time and sold two restored Chargers to get this car so I'm pretty damned careful about where I leave it and I'm not at a point where I'd leave it parked anywhere for any length of time.

hi guys. sorry it took me so long to respond. top? what top? oh the one the track officials make me use to make a run at the strip. its not to bad cruisin around during the day until the weather hits over 113. i guess i'm just used to it. i wish more people who raced their viper would move out here. you race maui? i pretty much park my car anywhere. its only a car and i think it gets more abuse when you wash it. ya im blown now and pretty happy with the set-up. only a few more tweaks for this hot weather and altitude and my car shopuld be running like a beast again. i think we are going to do a cruz with some supras f-bodys, ferarris and vettes probably next weeekend if anyone is interested(no lambo murcielago this time)

ya you don't get much speed for 300 grand but oh was it sweet lookin. his ferrari should be here in the next couple of days. his supra is going to be sick too. tried to convince him to get some real power(ala viper) but he is a die hard import guy. guess some people don't like torque.

Trent - I changed to the new 24 Hour Fitness in Summerlin so I don't run into Daniel much anymore. What's this about a Ferrari? I thought he had a Porsche GT3 on order. And, yeah, he is a die hard import guy but's working for him. His Supra was already sick - it's going to be downright insane.

BTW: which blower did you go with?

I haven't parked my Viper at a casino and left it, but I think it would be fine depending on the casino and where you parked. For example, I don't think I would leave my GTS in the parking lot of Circus Circus, but I may be willing to park it in sight of a security camera at a place like Mandalay Bay. I saw a yellow GTS sitting in the south parking lot at Sam's Town yesterday, so some people do park their Vipers at casinos.

When I had the RT/10 in Vegas, I slipped the Valet $20 to "keep it real close" and every time it would be parked right in front of the casino next to all the really high end cars they stick right in front for eye candy (Ferrari's, Porsches, etc.) So they would only need to drive it for 50 feet or so to park it. Was well worth tipping the valet the extra $20 to know it was right in front where all the security was and where "those" cars were roped off so people couldn't mess with them.

Oh yeah, by car totally bottomed out over one of the MGM speed bumps (those ones that are like 2 fee wide.) I had to gas it and scraped my car over the whole thing. Me and my passenger cringed the whole agonizing 2 seconds or so it took to get over that thing as it scraped the entire bottom of the car.

I noticed when driving my coupe in Vegas that the roads seemed to have a fine layer of dust on them which made them slippery. The Viper was constantly slipping and sliding. While this was lots of fun, I found myself being easy on the throttle.

I noticed this too while driving in Vegas. I was sliding all over the place. I just thought it was because the road was so hot that all the greases were in very liquid form and parts of the road itself might be partially melted. It was like on a road after a light rain almost.

Maui,

I'm moving to Las Vegas in December and was wondering the same thing. Its going to be a killer in my RT/10 without A/C. Maybe I'll see you there.

Take care,

Howard
