I know I speak for DC and I'm sure Jon @ Partsrack feels the same, but we're so honored to be able to serve such a fantastic community of enthusiasts

In tough economic times, communities will need to make the effort to keep the companies around that they want to have around once the dust has settled... and not just here in the Viper world. If you have a favorite local restaurant, consider going in there and telling your friends about it even if it's a couple dollars more than one of the larger chain restaurants.

I work in a Honda/Yamaha/Kawasaki dealership in Maryland, and things are tough. I've worked here for almost 15 years and have never seen it this way. Now we can point the blame at this person or that and it doesn't change the fact that no president, politician or program is gonna get us out of this. It's gonna be the grit, determination and perserverance of the American people. Like DC performance says it's the small things that are gonna make the difference now. I can't speak personally for DC performance, from what I hear they are great, but I can say that dealing with Jon at Parts Rack has been second to none. Customer service goes along way in my book and his site is the first place I go if I'm looking for a part for my car. He has always been patient with me on the phone and has given me great advice.

What did you expect after I gave you a price like I did

In the short time that I've been active here on the Viper forums, I've really been floored by how tightly-knit the community is and how well everyone takes care of each other! I think that is a major reason that we'll be around for a long while and you'll continue to see the Viper produced by whoever is lucky enough to take over production (crosses fingers).

I agree totally with this thread... We are going through the worst economic contraction in most peoples lives. My company in 2006 had 123 150+million projects going on in New York state alone... Today we have 1....
Everyone has had to tighten there belts. But the money I do spend is with those that have time and time again served me with the respct as a customer I deserve....

I was in the Defense/Aerospace world back in the early '90s and it was bad when that fell apart. Same thing with the dot-com implosion ten years later. Now, another ten years later, we're going through a global economic implosion and it's scary to say the least. Let's just hope we're at a bottom and this is recoverable... If not, well at least I'm going down fighting (and with a new Viper).

However, I plan to come over to the US this summer and will be shopping for some more Viper spares Guess Ide better bring a large bag Anybody know how to get 4 pilot sport 2s into a suite case

I'm happy to report that after 9 months searching for employment I finally found it here in California. I'm in Mojave now working for an aerospace company (at a third of what I was making). All my household goods are in South Carolina so in the comming months I will be moving my stuff here to set up house. I'm bringing my 96 Hennessey Venom 600 with me.

I needs a a dyno tune. Apparently you're set up for that. It has SC plates and no cats. Is that going to be a problem for you? I hear stinkin' california laws are such that you won't be able to tune my Viper because it has no cats. Is that correct? I have a home in SC and I plan on keeping it registered there so I don't know if this is an issue.

From stock needing a safety check, to full on racing Vipers they have done them all.

Spend a bit of time discussing with them your special requirements. You will not only get a first class job, but you will completely understand their reasoning for suggestion the proper way to structure the job.

They have an in-house dyno, and one of the most experienced teams around...nice guys too.

Technically the state of California requires you to register your vehicle and get a cal state drivers license within a couple of weeks of changing residency.

There are ways to pass smog with out cats, but you may well be served to install some cats with your tune you have now , get smogged and legal and then go back and get a real tune with or without the cats

And no, you don't even need a license plate for us to tune your car We have a couple Hennessey cars in the shop right now and definitely have the experience and ability to take care of any and every one of your needs and wants

Anxiously awaiting a call from DCP that my new Mopar controller and 6-pt belts have arrived and are ready for installation. Currently running Torco in my tank for the upgrade/dyno DCP has installed my Bellanger exhaust and my Penske coils/shocks, and so far, I've been very pleased with their service. Good turnaround, and unlike other (Ford, Chevy) shops I deal with for my other toys, they are very interested in understanding your needs and are knowledgeable of the available mods. Looking forward to a Gen-IV intake upgrade from them in my future mods.

I've got an aftermarket cam with lots of overlap. There's no way it will pass smog in kalifornia even with cats.

I'll never allow it to be registered here in Kalif. I just won't stand for their meddling with my vehicle.

My attitude is they can go to hell before I comply with their bull**** smog laws. Do we live in a free country or not? I'll keep my Viper in storage in South Carolina rather than comply with kalifornias **** hole smog laws.

So look at it this way, I'm a visitor here in Kalif, I don't plan on staying long. All I want is to get my vehicle performance tuned.

Why can't that happen?

I have written dozens of stories and articles for Viper Quarterly / Viper Magazine, including the inaugural issue. I have been fortunate to have a column in VCA Notes, every issue but 1 (bumped.) Those of us "submitters" (vs "Writers" like Maurice Liang) like to think we provide a service or at least some amusement. Maybe both.

But NO article came straight from the heart anywhere near as much as VIPER TOWN. Im glad you liked it!
