I know this is an odd question but how good is he at lip-reading? Or did he have an interpreter with him?

For those who don't know, Lou Ferrigno is deaf.

He isn't totally deaf, he is hard of hearing from an ear infection when he was little.

He's deaf enough to need an interpreter most of the time. A late friend of mine used to interpret for him on occasion. I think my girlfriend (who is also deaf) said he only retains 15% of his hearing. That may have been my friend (a child of deaf adults) who said that, now that I think of it. Most people in the Deaf community would consider that deaf. I was curious if the originial poster was able to communicate with him effectively. But just curious, really.

No , We did not talk much, When I first got to the front of him I said loudly Something like hey Big Lou how ya doing! with a loud voice, he heard nothing. his girlfrind hit him and he looked at me , then when I spoke he could understand. So he is a great lip reader.
