So I mounted the canisters for the front shocks just in front of the engine. It's easy to get to them to make adjustments and cool to see when I pop the hood. I've had them there for the past six months and they work great.

I'm a little concerned about the heat they are subjected to. After a drive, they are too hot to touch for more than a second or two. I'm wondering if this might be bad for the seals or other parts of the canisters....any thoughts on this?

I have mine mounted in the same place for two years and 2,000 track miles and have not had any problems at all. You really have no other choice on where they can be mounted on an SRT10. I would not worry about them.

SCLSSRT10 said:"You really have no other choice on where they can be mounted on an SRT10." This is not a correct statement. Woodhouse mounts them in the front wheel wells. If you have any questions about this, contact Mike Jorgensen at Woodhouse. As a result, they are in a much cooler environment. Although it is subjective, I do not think that they look good under the hood. Shocks don't really belong under the hood.

I realize they can be mounted elsewhere....I've even seen them strapped to the control arms. I am wondering about the heat being detrimental to the canisters.

Where are the Comp Coupe cannisters fitted?

Looking at the pictures in the fall 2005 issue of Viper Quarterly, it appears they have their own sort of perch. It looks like they are somewhere in the fender.

Under the hood is a bit too hot for me.

I mounted mine in the wheel wells - rear; and in the comparment behind the headlights - front. This works quite well.

They to look cool under the hood. If I were to mount them in plain sight, I'd put them just behind the fascia suppport. They will fit in between the plastic fins there.

I just popped open the access door....that compartment is a really good spot. When the paxton goes on (when ever that is), I bet I'll have to move the canisters anyway. I'll stick them in there. Thanks for the tip X.

The horn is moved to the compartment on the right side that you are referring to during a proper Paxton install. I do not know whther you will have enough room left over for the Moton. I think that the compartment would not be a good location anyway since there is very little room in the compartment to put your hands in there if you want to make an adjustment or just check on the cannisters. I reccomend, as I stated above, the wheel well location. Good luck.

Mine are in the wheel well where Woodhouse put them I think this is the best location.

Sorry. No photo but I am sure Mark Jorgensen at Woodhouse must have one that he can post or email to you. Or,FloridaChris has photo posting capability. He might be able to help you out. He has Motons mounted the same way.
