My Stock 06 Vert defeats a Supercharged 08 Hemi Challenger in 1/4 mile grudge match

Thought you guys would get a kick out of this Dodge to Dodge grudge match at the track last night. I lined up my stock, black 06 vert against a lowered, black supercharged 08 challenger. Here were the results. Conditions were not great, about a DA of 850 feet.

11.8 in a stock 06. WOW nice run. I'm sure the Challenger driver was happy after dumping the cash into his car and losing..

The Challenger is way too heavy also and a big complaint with owners. I just came back from the 24 hour at Daytona and a black Challenger ran in the Koni (3 hour) series. The car finished near the back of the pack and the driver openly admitted it is 300 lbs. too heavy. In stock form with the 425 hp hemi, the reports are only between 5 and 5.5 seconds 0-60. Terrible.

Indeed I do!

In some great weather last wednesday I turned an 11.807. Eight thousands from an 11.7. I left the damn headlights on and it cost me over 2 mph on that run. Surely would have been an 11.7 otherwise. Even the challenger pass DA corrected is an 11.78. These cars will do it, it just takes some driving skill and practice.

Yes they are run flats. Best launch RPM is about 3000 RPM. Done just right with a quick clutch disengagement it will put you in the sweet spot of coming out hard but not bogging, nor blowing the tires.

very nice run. around here we only have 1/8 mile tracks. that would have been a close one in the 1/8.
the 1/4 really lets a Viper flex its muscle. thanks for the info, congrats

Since you are in KC, you are not that far from Woodhouse. Mark Jorgensen and his merry men are doing some interesting mods to Challengers including supercharger kit installations. Woodhouse is a sponsor and well regarded by many.

You are correct. It would have been a photo at 1/8. I assume the challenger ran an auto which gave him an advantage at 330 where I am in the 1-2 shift which leaves alot of time on the table because of traction loss. But then once it hooks in second she really shows her colors and has good bite in the powershifts that follow.

i have a challenger too, and man they are quick off the line, since they hook up so damn good compared to the Viper. you outdrove the guy, plus his car is heeeeavy.
he would need another 100hp to take ya i think. plus you did some mighty fine driving too.
