Hey I am bout to purchase some rotors and pads and just want a quick opinion.

I am going to probably go with these rotors from alans performance:

http://www.alansperformance.com/onepiprro19v1.html

however you can save $40 and get the non painted ones:

http://www.alansperformance.com/onepiprro19v.html

I will be putting ccw 505A wheels on the car, do you think it would look better with the black center? or do you think you will even notice? or maybe get red since my viper is red... or would that look wierd?

ALSO, what kind of pads do I want? (links and prices?)I just want some cheap OK ones, I do not really drive the viper hard.

Thanks!
Jason

I would recomend www.greatbrakes.com and a full set of EBC pads to reduce dust the rotors are dimpled and painted, look really nice when the paint wears as it gives a drilled effect.

Rotors are also slotted, and they look great through the wheels best bang for you buck.

Texas is such a great place to do business people are so polite.

I just bought Hawk Sreet/light Track pads from Tirerack for $99. Great price and have been Happy with them for 3 weeks now. Little noise, low dust, bites as well as stock if not better.

Search Hawk pads on this forum, or just go to www.tirerack.com look for the HP line.

If you really don't drive hard you can get a set of 4 cross drilled and slotted off eBay for under $200.

I was thinking the same thing.

go for the bling if you are just street driving

otherwise, I would stay stock.....I am sure Chuck 98 will chime in if you are really driving your Viper hard, but it sounds like you aren't

The EBC's are ideal 'Bling' they are not cross drilled just dimpled and painted so they look cross drilled behind the wheels but they are slotted and are excellent quality.

People always **** drilled discs but Porsche have used em on the track and off for yours.

But my personal experience is that drilled discs can crack round the holes, Porsche must have very good quality.

Thanks guys, I think I am going to go with the greatbrakes.com ebc stuff. And get their rotors that are slotted with dimples. I would rather not worry about having the holes crack. also going to go with the Green stuff, or the red stuff pads, not sure which ones yet, probably the green.

unless those pads ****?

Greens are ok for the street if you don't care about stopping...lol

REDS are the absolute worst for the street, they take forever to heat up and stop the car, I've blown through stop signs when they were cold. Took them off quick.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the EBC rotor. They come solid black, but the brake pads take the black off the main part of the rotor. The dimples aren't just for show, they serve the same purpose as through holes which is to reduce any chance of gas buildup under the brake pad (not a real consideration for the street though).

On the pads, the EBC greens are not the best choice in my opinion and I ran them for 4 years. I switched from EBC greens on stock rotor to the EBC rotor and Hawk HPS pads. The Hawk HPS pads have no more dust than the EBC greens after break-in, no brake squeal and the stopping power and feel is better.
