It was quite an exciting couple of days. Last Thursday I bought a new Infiniti to tow the Viper to some races coming up. The next day while talking with a fellow member, I learned of a trailer for sale. I was planning on renting a trailer but when I saw this rig, I had to have it. It had been custom made for a viper. It was owned by another club member that gave me an awesome deal. Both members were great.

Each viper club event I attend or encounter I have with other members, I cannot help but to be impressed by the quality of the people that make up the viperclub.

Anyway, here's some pics: By a fluke everything matched up pretty well.

The Infiniti is nice to be sure, but that trailer is GORGEOUS! I am especially impressed with the extended ramps that flip down off the door ramp. Now you just need to paint your Viper silver and you will be all set... :D

Thanks for the pics!

I HATE those infiniti SUV's.

They have some sort of traffic safety device in them that uses lasers and every time one goes by, it sets off my Valentine 1, causing me to think I've just been lasered by the cops.

(nice rig, by the way.)

dynamic cruise control and accident avoidance - makes sure you don't get too close.

First time this happened to me was on the highway.

I passed an infiniti, and a second or two later, my laser alarm goes off. I slow down, and the infiniti passes me while I am rubbernecking for a cop.

I ascertain that the coast is clear, get on the gas, pass the infiniti, and my laser alarm goes off again. I slow down again, looking for cops, and he passes me again.

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, so it took me a couple more like this to figure out that it was the infiniti that was setting off the alarm. The infiniti driver must have thought I was completely nuts or really rude (or both.)

I think that's the nicest trailer I've ever seen, Do you know who made it in case someone wants one built? How much does it weigh?

It's originally a cargo mate trailer, but the original owner did a bunch of mods to customize it to fit the viper. I believe it weighs just over 4,000. I just spent the weekend using it for some race events and it really worked out great.

So with an empty weight of 4K pounds, add a Viper and accessories that'll probably gross over 8K by the time it's loaded. What's the towing capacity on the QX?

8900 with 4wd. Traveled about 500 miles over the weekend doing the IL Longest day competition. QX handled everthing perfectly.

GREAT set up! Easy to tie the car down, huh?

(Make sure the trailer has 2 5K pound axles and not 2 3500 pound axles - that is the standard....)

Be safe!

Super easy to tie down, plus it has the heavy duty axles. The only things missing are the winch and generator, but in time I'm sure they'll be added.:2tu:

If anyone is looking for a rig to haul their Vipers with, I'm selling our custom built International RXT

This thing will haul anything.

It's a 2007 model with about $30k in extras (upgraded wheels & tires, exhaust, sound and video system, rear view camera, back seat folds into bed, and more)

PM me if interested.
