Just purchased an '04 SRT10 with 2600 miles; red with black interior and 100% stock. My wife and I bought it as a joint Valentines Day present to each other, hence the screen name. We take delivery next week.

I also have a 580 rwhp Supra as well as a 300 whp Subaru WRX sTI and have enjoyed the spirited debates between the various car cultures. Now I can play on all sides of the fence; American muscle, Japanese muscle and even ricer, lol. I like to think I'm an objective and well rounded performance car enthusiast.

Hope to meet some of you at local gatherings or track days.

Hey just saw you have a Supra as well, double WELCOME. I have a SUPRA TT HARDTOP as well, enjoy.
Two very different cars, both fast but at different times in the power band. GOOD LUCK and careful in the VIPER..

Sounds your wife's a keeper :)
I'm lucky that way too. My wife's Pro-Vipers.

Welcome, and keep the dirty side down:)

If she drives the new Viper, she'll want one too. Mine did and I got her a GTS. Now she wants a new blue / white coupe. Oh well.

Like yours, she's a keeper.

WELCOME TO THE MONEY PIT.... mods add up..=)

Thanks, but I'm no stranger to the automotive "money pit". I shudder every time I think about how much I've sunk into my Supra. I'll probably leave the Viper stock for a while.

Be sure to post some driving impressions soon. Congrats on the purchase.

Thanks for all the kind words. And yes, my wife is definitely a keeper, lol.

The car came Sunday and I managed to get a little seat time. Here are my impressions so far:

1. Wow... the car is georgous! Absolutely pristine.
2. The interior is tighter than I thought, but since I'm not a big guy, no problem (except for the seat side bolsters).
3. The ride is decent for a ******** sports car. Smoother ride than my Subaru and about the same as my Supra. Handling and brakes are superb, the best I have ever experienced.
4. I was surprised that the car wasn't "snappier". The throttle response seems soft and the power doesn't come on strong unless I am deep into the throttle (is this normal?). I'm assuming that this is because of the very low gearing. I see why so many owners swith the gears out.
5. Traction is a problem, especially in cold weather. I was surprised how easily the car breaks the tires loose.
6. The car is faster than it feels.
7. The side bolsters on the seats are a bit tight for me. Although I'm not a big guy, I am pretty wide across the back (I'm a gym rat). This bothered me at first but then I seemed to get used to it, but I'm concerned about comfort on a long drive.

All and all, I love the car but may need to go with some taller gears to get the kind of throttle response I like. I would gladly sacrifice a little top end for more zip off the line.

Any feedback would be welcome. No doubt I still need to learn the car's driving characteristics to get the most out of it.
