John's suspension is still all original components, which makes me ask, what is the projected life/mileage on his Konis before servicing?

I expect that enthusiasts have played with the shock's calibration and have had Koni service shops apply changed valving during rebuilds.

Are there any recommended Viper specialists handling this?

While John's mileage is still quite low (cue for JohnB...) the car is at least sixteen (>16) years old, and the shocks (as well as his autocross times) would likely benefit from a service update.

Gen 1 Konis were BEASTS for abuse. They take a lot of it, and keep on working. "It Depends" is the only answer: Track Rats COOK the shock valving from rotor heat, wheras streeters and X-ers dont make any heat. But X-ers can but a lot of abnormal wear on them.

I only know a couple shops rebuilding G1-G2 Konis, plus Koni themselves. Most owners spending that kind of $$ would just install adjustables....

My Gen 1 '94 has 75k miles on it, and has the OE shocks, still functioning acceptably well.

Probably take me a while to get to that milage! I have almost 12K now. Bought the car with 8K 3 years ago. I try to drive as much as possible, but owning your own business keeps me busy. I am sure you know all about that one.
