sounds cool, there are loads of vipers in Germany the most in Europe i believe, also the Swiss, Sweden clubs are pretty active in the better weather, the french are steadily growing in numbers, and our season is quite extended as we seem to escape most of the bad weather which the other euro regions have. Marcus on here (ViperGTS) will be along soon i guess and give you all the info you need

think of all the great tracks and places you can visit, and unlimited speeds on the autobahns :)
we had a US military viper guy in our club for a couple of years, he couldnt beleive the speeds everyone drives at on our roads. You dont have to take a 60min boat ride there's also a 20min train ride on the euro tunnel from Calais to the UK, you drive your viper onto the train, 22 miles from france to the UK in good weather you can see the french coast from the UK

Frankfurt is a pretty nice place, espicially outside the city limits, been a couple of times
Germany in general has the best tarmac surface youll find in europe their road surfaces are excellent, close 2nd are the french toll autoroutes

Very cool. I lived in that area for a while.

Some Vipers around and some very nice stretches of Highway to really let it out too!

I am envious !!!! I worked around Wiesbaden (near Frankfurt) and in the Eiffel mountain area many years ago, and really like that part of the world. You will only be about 100 miles from the Nürburgring track. I'd really like to be able to drive the Nordschleife circuit with my Viper ! Access to that track is reason enough to make sure you ship your car!

Welcome to the "OLD" world!

We have one US guy being a club member, another US Viper owner (he is often in Iraq) is a close friend. Check out our 2007 events section and you will see that we have a number of meetings during the season.

Whenever you have a question about your move, feel free to send me a PM and I will try to help you, altough I am in the southeast of Bavaria, >300 miles from Frankfurt.

Now, you have to learn some German!

Enjoy it.. good roads, great people and good lookin girls. Traffic ***** in Stuttgart during the week, same as boundary areas like Boeblingen (high tech manufacturing and Mercedes HQ).. a trip to Tubingen from Stuttgart on the weekend is a great ride for your first jaunt into the forest roads.. Also to note - Stuttgart has the Volksfest in October, as opposed to the Munich Oktoberfest.. the Volksfest is a blast and all of the locals go there as opposed to Munich (to many tourist folks)..

Wow that is a major change. At least the car is coming with you. I would be very interested to hear about how you like or dislike the transition.

You've got to post some pictures and video of driving on the Ring.

(Maybe you should shoot an AFN spot about it.)

Well bit of a shock you getting closer and closer.

You will love Germany, the people are nice the roads are great and the scenery is good, hope you get based at Mannheim (think thats how its spelt) as you can enjoy the Corvette Viper meet at Hockenheim in June which is just up the road.

Every year I go and meet loads of ex Airforce people who never went home, so it must be good.

Well shift your ar*e if you can make it in time for next weekend you can come with us to Hockenheim for the Corvette Viper meet...LOL

We get a few Americans from Mannheim just down the road but none with Vipers, but we also keep meeting Viper owners at the event who came over with the forces and never left.

The beer is great the people are wonderfull the girls pretty and the roads just blow you away, and I need another 'Ring' trip, so would be great to meet you there in your GTS.

Think of you quite a lot hope you and the family are well and keep that KC flying straight.
