question about stripes.........

i've noticed that on some vipers, the stripes go into the license plate area, and on others they stop above the plate area and then continue below it. is one a factory application and the other add ons, and if so, which way is what?

I believe that the only GTS's that had the stripe go through the license plate area were the 96's. After that year they stopped above and continued below the plate. That is the easiest way to tell a B/W 96 from B/W 97. Don't know about the RT's

thanks. i'm going to be striping my 97 GTS, so i think i will skip over the plate area.

You can see they were stripped off of the car. Some have a huge offset. But they are pre-painted parts that they put together like a kit. By leaving the stipes off in the following years, the alignment was no concern.

Go thru the license plate area - it has a much more finished look.

I would also go around the NACA duct - for more of a custom look.

That is the easiest way to tell a B/W 96 from B/W 97. Don't know about the RT's

RT/10s never had factory stripes except the 97 Blue and Whites. Those stripes were the same as the GTS for that year

Ahhhh, Viperzilla, I gotcha....96 white with blues stipes RT10 and 96 black with silver stripes RT10.
