Re: Seat belts/Harness

If anyone is interested, I have a set of TeamTech 6 point harnesses for sale for $250. Use two track days. They are silver with black padding and red tabs (perfect condition). I purchased them new from partsrack.

05viper - the anti submarine strap gets annoying I think. Also people, and ladies especially, already complain about how complecated and annoying it is to strap into the 4 points. Personally I don't see what the big confusion is, but if theyre having difficulty with an airplane style fastener I cant imagine anything more than 4 points.

Re: Seat belts/Harness

Part of the reason of havng the sub belt is to keep you from sliding out from under the belt in a violent accident. Another equally important reason is to help the the lap belt ON your lap/hips and not riding up towards your stomach when you cinch down the shoulder belts, which WILL cause all sorts of nasty internal injuries to you in a bad crash.

I know what you are going to ask next. Why aren't there sub belts on regular passenger car belts. The simple reason is that the shoulder belt is not fixed. Meaning the the belt retractor keeps it snug againt your shoulder and then locking feature secures it in a crash, unlike your 4 point that needs to be tight all of the time to function properly.

I have been in EMS for almost 30 years and have the results of improper use of seatbelts many times.

I personally use the TEAMTECH 6 POINT that I got from Jon B. It takes a little getting used to over the 5 point system I used in my Shelby. Now that I have some seat time with them They are great.

Another reaon why I went with the six point over the 5 point, is that if you are to install those "by the book", it will require a hole to be drilled into the floor of the car and a slot into the seat to correctly orient the fifth strap.

thats my nickle for today.

What the hell does this have to do with this thread? And why would you buy a lowering kit if you are 5'8? The stock seats should work perfectly for Vertically challenged individuals such as ourselves. The 1 inch is much more expensive then the 2 inch. Why would anyone pay you what you paid for them, after they were used/installed? Why wouldnt they just go buy a new set from Jon B ? Nice use of a thread for advert.

I bought the kit off of this thread. If you are not interested, why not just mind your own business. Someone always has to be a wise(mule). :hitfan:

*****, I am interested in this thread because I too LIKE THE POSTER bought a set of TeamTechs from Jon B. so I am watching the progress of this, because I have interst in it. Why you bring up the sale of a seat lowerin kit, when it was not discussed at all in this thread is beyong me. Go cry somewhere else, when someone calls you out for thread hijacking, cuz I could care less.

I want 6 point harness information, not what you want from your seat lowering kit. Go start your own thread.

Will the Teamtech work with a HANS device on the stock seats?

Re: Seat belts/Harness

Well, I received my harnesses. They look great but I think I'll hold off on the install until my other work is done. The exhaust should be in anyday now and I don't want to wait for more HP because I have the seats out. It took about a month from order to receipt, not bad concidering the holidays. I'm happy so far, Thanks JonB.

The HANS should work with any 5-point harness system. The only difference is that you want to make sure you purchase the correct model of hans for the seats ( the layback, or angle of the hans ) - any HANS dealer should let you know what you need.

Now I just need to order some quick disconnects for my HANS. :)

I know it took forever but I finally put the harnesses in. They look great. Easy job, I think anyone can do. Hardest part was finding the bolt on the tunnel. I took a few pictures but don't know how to post yet. I started with the passenger side, pulled the seat and everything(now I know for no reason), after that, the drivers side was a really simple and didn't even pull the seat, it's tight but can do.
I did this on last Saturday and had a couple of questions, thanks for calling me back on your Saturday JonB to answer them and thanks for all the help over the phone.
Hey all, even though I bought these months ago and they just sat on the shelf, JonB still took the time to answer my questions and give advice. Great customer service after the sale! Way after the sale!
