Anyone had experience with both shifters in a gen 3?
I read a lot of info on the forum and while majority of the people seem to swing towards MGW I've read some comments that give a big pro to B&B.
According to the research on this forum what I saw so far, is that MGW provides shorter shifting of less than 15%, which in a way hard to notice, specially if one already have the shorter shift rod. On the other hand I read on the forum as well that B&B provides short shifting close to 40%. If that is the case than why B&B not the clear winner of these two?

Anyone had an experience with both shifters?

If you have it in your car now and know what you know now would you spend money to do it again?

B + M.............
Jon, can you give a little more info? What is "B + M"? Does that mean B&B plus tranny polyurethane mounting pads?
If so why B&B? Is there a difference in the install difficulty between B&B and MGW shifter?

How about Hurst shifter? It too claims to shorten throw by 40%?
If that is the case why MGW?

Those claims are for a Gen2 car, the MGW is far and away the BEST shifter out there.
How many hours should the dealer charge for the shifter install?
Does it make sense to install polyurethane tranny mounts as well? If so what does it take to install those?

You ARE an "ENTHUSIAST" ! This thread has 10+ questions now! And more install questions in your parallel thread. We need some dialogue, too much to type, and can take several days here, back and forth as other questions get added. Happy to take your call....THANKS

I have the MGW shifter in my car and I have to be honest, I haven't noticed much of a big difference from stock.

I have the B&M shifter ( part # 45055 ) with an MGW short knob. I couldn't be happier. I can't believe I let myself drive around for two years on the stock setup... It's like a whole different car now.

The assembly is a work of art, all stainless and 6061 anodized aluminum. I installed mine from the bottom, letting the trans sag down so I could get clearance. It took me about an hour to swap it, but I already had the car up to swap out the motor mounts.

The mounts are also a great mod that you would not regret! A dealer would charge you 2 hours.
