A lot of Viper cleaning on Sunday

I was amazed by how poorly maintained the track was. Looks like they haven't put a dime into it since the 50's!
Since they don't have the giant e.t. billboards at the end of the track it was tough getting any of the times. I heard a few in the high 11's blurted over the loudspeaker, but I'm sure there had to be better.
It was disappointed that the track decided not to let the roadsters race without a hardtop. I was looking forward to seeing a new friend light up the strip!

Maybe next time we could have the group meet in Pomona or maybe even the new track at the California Speedway??

I haven't been to Carlsbad yet this year, but I have seen
many vipers there and they seemed to range between the high 11's
to mid 12's depending on the track and driver.
I don't think anyone will be putting any money into the track since it's just going to be torn down and developed over soon anyway. The last time I went the access road was so bad I scratched the rocker panel on my Z06 and I haven't been back since.

Drag racing this weekend at California Speedway Click on the California Dragway image on the left to view the schedule.

If I'm not mistaken they will let the RT's run without a hardtop but require rollbars and arm restraints.

The only problem I see is that in the neighborhood of 300 - 500 cars show up and each and every one must go through tech. It takes a while, but our roads and parking lots are paved.
