I've got a friend with a b/w GTS. We were in his garage one day and he just happened to glance at the hood and notice 7 lip prints where someone had kissed the hood. We had done a carshow a couple weeks prior and he hadnt driven the car since, so he's thinking thats when it happened :D

Awwwww...how sweet!! At least lip prints (lipstick?) can be washed off. As far as the '*****' comment...wayyyy toooooo congested here in Albany, NY...I park my daily driver as far away as possible...when I come out, YEPPER, there's someone parked right next to me...and MANY spots they could've picked AWAY from me...so slammed by doors?
Probably. Want our VIPER slammed by doors? NO THANX...we don't garage it, we RUN it...whenever possible...we just will NOT use it for daily driving-errands. ~juli

I would say that if you are going to a mall, if there is VIP parking, use that. Of course not all do, but if they have it, use it. I try to go to Malls that only have VIP parking. Sure it may be a few bucs, but the assurance to me is worth it. Of course there is always the chance the driver may want to take it for a joy ride, but I sure hope not. In the short time I was driving my Viper(one and a half months) before coming back out here, I was driving on a highway, just normal speed, and there was a guy in a Souped up Civic, could hear the turbo and all, pulled up right next to me, rolled his window down and He said You guys think you are the $H!$, driving a viper, you think you are the fastest out there, etc. I said oh really? You just acknowledged me without me saying a word to you, . I then said do you think I would even acknowledge you driving a civic?? He then tried to take off trying to race, so I Popped it in second and smoked his a$$. Once I let him catch back up, I just shook my head. There sure is a lot of jealousy out there.

Green eyed monster rearing its ugly head. I had a guy in the lane next to me tell me my hood was mis-aligned. I told him "Thank you...and by the way, your car is 3 different colors."

I wish I had only got a nastygram.

Gary Almond did a terrific job moving my car from Denver to Houston YESTERDAY. TODAY, someone decided to leave me a $1200 "hello" scratch on the rear quarter. I was parked on top floor of a upscale hotel parking garage, wedged between pillars that allowed no one to park close or even walk past without making it a point to "visit" my car. It is a jealousy thing. Everyone is suprised that my GTS is a '97 and not new and most don't know that it is American made.

Just super!

Oh, OUCH...so very sorry to hear about that...that's nasty...geesh. And, here you just got your car, congratulations are in order, but very sorry about the expensive scratch...that really is a bummer...:( . Hope it doesn't deter you from joining the VCA, and post pics of your new car? Welcome aboard! ~juli

Thanks. The car is not new to me. I just relocated and had Gary ship the car down. It is a bit bittersweet because there was an existing scratch on the roof that will have to be fixed when they "feather" is the paint. Also, the hotel is paying the bill.

At least it will be locked up at the dealership next to the body shop managers office for the next 10 days (they need a couple of gasket that will take a while to deliver). I was going to look for a place to live this weekend with a garage in Houston and took the risk of having the car at the hotel garage for approximately a week. Stupid of me!

Oh, gosh, I'm so sorry about your ordeal...geeesh, moving ALONE is stressful enough, to worry about your Viper at the hotel garage:( ...I'm glad the Viper is locked at the dealership's. Don't be so ******* yourself...you had ENOUGH on your mind~~give yourself a break...good luck with the home-hunting...wish you all the best. ~juli

Thanks...I appreciate the sentiment. All is well. No one was hurt or killed. In the big picture of life it is very small. Moving alone is a mixed bag. Yes...I get to play poker, drink and smoke. But, I really miss the wifey (did I say that?).

Hope to run in to you down the road.

Well, you have now had time to put things in perspective...I'm very glad! I also moved alone, but not with a Viper in tow...so I know how that can be...and yes, I imagine you do miss your wife...hope she meets up with you ASAP. It'd be great to run into you also, where are you moving to? I see Houston in your avatar? We are in Albany, NY. Good Luck with everything...grand scheme of things, yes, minor irritations...but they add to the bigger picture. ~juli

I'm in with the majority here I never leave my Viper unattended. The only place I do trust is the gym where I work-out,everyone is really close so there are no worries on my part. It's funny when a guy or girl parks 2-3 spots from my Viper people make comments how they got to close! LOL

We have our monthly club meetings at a Dodge dealership, and they usually have an area reserved for the Vipers. Last month the parking spots hadn't been cleared yet, so I parked in a customer parking spot and went inside. Billy Bob and Jr. (his 200 pound, 10 year old son) went over to the car and walked around it a few times. When I got back to the car, I noticed a bunch of pudgy little finger prints all over it.

A group of us took the Vipers to a gathering for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and we finally had to lock all the cars because kids kept getting in them. Some kid got in mine and left behind muddy foot prints all over the carpet and greasy finger prints from the bag of Lays potato chips he had just inhaled.

The same happened at Viper vs. Viper at Luke Air Force Base. The cars were roped off, but people were going under the rope and climbing into people's cars until the security forces ran them off. I've taught my children to stay away from other cars unless the owner specifically tells them they can touch it or get in, even then, I still watch them like a hawk.
