Had the pleasure to take the SRT-10 for a +600 miles round trip in Germany.

Autobahn.

+300 miles yesterday afternoon and +300 miles today.

Lots of stretches WITHOUT any speed limit. Of course a lot of local speed limits.

Managed to drive the +300 miles each in about 3 hours.

The car pulls like HELL in 4th gear going from 60-80 to 160 mph!

INSANE. MAD. BUT FUN.

5th gear is ok, but I got rarely over 160 mph...due to the traffic.

6th gear is still ok and faster than most cars around but ... nothing exciting.

The brakes? WOW.

I had numerous times when slow cars or trucks pulled in front of me.
They did not use the mirror.
So I had to break hard - often.

Stunning brakes!

And the drivers in Germany are so VERY MUCH BETTER than the average US Driver!

"Lane Utilization" here is so terrible, that IF IF IF US Drivers would simply keep right except when in the act of passing slower traffic, the USA could save billions on road construction.

Yes they are as they don't park themselves in the left lane doing the speed limit.

Oh, I had some "envious" drivers in front of me also - they did not want to change to the right lane(s) ...

BTW, 7-8 mpg was the average during the +600 miles.

I think I accelerated at least 150 times from 60-80 mph to 160 mph. FUN.

wow I am just drooling thinking about that drive~~!!!

I figured I got 6 mpg at Mid OH the other weekend in my GenII and I run up to 110+in 3rd gear, so you must have been ON it!

You guys don't have to worry about deer or other wild animals wandering across the roads over there?

Here in New York we are always seeing dead deer on the side of the road, and that's at 60mph. I can't imagine what it would be like to clip a deer while going 160.

We have fences on both sides of the autobahn & it was day. No deers.

At 160mph I don't even think the deer would make more impact then with the front bumper. Would probably go flying up and over. Your a damn rocket at that speed.

I've found that a quick blirp of the throttle is more effective than a horn ever could be.
