VCA Carolinas Member Lunch - March 30th, 2013 - Raleigh & Charlotte

So after a lot of calls, emails, and even a drive down to SC by Brian and myself to meet with Rockingham's staff... We were unable to secure a location and equipment for a March autox or track event.

We will try to have something at another time this year, but we do not want March to go by without some kind of meetup for everyone.

We will be having a lunch for members on March 23rd (rain date March 30th). The destination is that which is most often requested by the Raleigh area members, *******! There will also be a lunch for Charlotte area members that CBR-ACR (Chuck) is putting together. If you are remotely near the Charlotte area, then you should have gotten an email and there will be a forum post with further info soon. We really appreciate members like Chuck offering to help us out with ideas and planning!

I am going to check with both restaurant locations in Raleigh to see if they can block off some parking and we do have to consider March Madness in planning. For that reason, I am leaning towards an early lunch (11am) and perhaps a cruise before hand for anyone interested. Suggestions are welcome

Sigh, I wont be able to make that one, i'll be flying in on the 24th, but if chuck's meing in charlotte is after that, then i'm in!!!

Thanks for the invite, unfortunately will not be able to make the 23rd previous committment.
If something is still on for the 30th will plan on being there.

Definitely looking like the Airport one will be the choice. We may have to get there as early as 10:30 to get decent parking though - last time I spoke with them they would not offer reserved parking (especially during sporting events).


The weatherman is predicting some rain this Saturday, but I would not be surprised if that changes throughout the week... So keep checking back for an update!

FYI, We will do the drawing for the free membership at lunch. You need not be present to win. If the winner is not at lunch, then I will give him/her a call

The weather for Saturday is clearing up a little, but it is still showing as "Mostly cloudy and cool with a sprinkle possible". Let's hope it keeps getting better. Otherwise, we will do the 30th.

Hey Chris, If ya'll were to have it next Saturday....would you incorporate cars and coffee in the equation? Isn't that held the 1st Saturday of the month?

That is a great idea but I think next Saturday is only the 30th. April 6th would be the first Saturday of the month which is our "Mopar's at the Rock" event. Again, great idea though and thanks for posting. Where are you located?

Okay, I was there with you then. We don't have an official count on Rockingham, but I know that several are definitely going including myself. We're hoping to have a better handle on the count by the end of next weekend.

BTW, we're planning a club event to visit Wilmington C&C this year....and a likely visit with Viper tech Tom Sessions....right in your backyard.

We will have a members lunch in Charlotte this Saturday the 30th. Let's meet at the Tilted Kilt in Matthews at 11:30. For the members that had responded this should be somewhat of a central location. The address is 1625 Windsor Square Dr, Matthews (right off 74). This will be
a great and informal opportunity for the Charlotte members to meet each other and we can discuss some future local events as well. I
know that a couple of members will be unable to join us due to to vacation plans for Spring break but this lunch will get things started.

I do plan to meet up with our other club members at the Mopars at the Rock event in Rockingham the following Saturday. If anyone else is
interested , we can caravan over and meet with the rest of the club. Just let me know.

Just hope for good weather this weekend!

Sounds like a plan Chris, by the way, the Charlotte group met at the Tilted Kilt and unknowingly there was a car show going on at the same time. We unintentionally upstaged their show, well then again maybe it was intentional, just a little.....
