Many benefits from discounts to meeting great people.

Example the discount for a Skip Barber program will more than pay for one year of VCA membership.

VCA membership will help maximize the Viper ownership experience.

Just a taste:

Opportunity to enter Raffles to win a VERY collectible Viper

Discounts with many Viper/racing oriented vendors

Viper Magazine subscription

VCA Notes subscription

Viper memorabilia auctions in our "Members Only" Section

"First dibs" VCA edition vehicle opportunities

Can someone chime in with more?

Is this a Viper Club or a VCA Club? Private clubs can mandate any rules they want, but a VCA club cannot pick and choose their members at random. There is no precedent for having to be a member to join a region - if that were the case how could anyone join? I say join the MD/Va region (we'd love to have you) but I see no reason why you could not move an join there.

ps - if I may ask, where are you heading to?

This is an internatiuonal Club. Any region that would not accept a VCA member with open arms should lose its membership status!

The club said I needed to be 'a current VCA member' and said I needed to own a Viper in order to join their cruise. (I had signed my name and 'sapph blue GTS' on the bottom of the email). I told him I was sorry that I hadn't joined VCA yet but I would be, and it sounded like I couldn't go with them on their wknd cruise..? He never responded back.

Hi Leslie, that's amazing that somebody said that. As you know, we don't operate that way in VA/MD. You are always welcome to join us and we have enjoyed having you on our cruises. Having said all that I do think it's worthwhile to join VCA, and a little known fact is that a whole bunch of that dues money goes right back to the regions to use to subsidize events and membership benefits.

I truly enjoyed your group and would have joined you guys if I had stayed in WV. I am moving to IN this month, just talked to another group (IN/KY) and they were excited about having a new member. Just joined the VCA on the ph, didn't know you could do that, haha

I think anyone with a Viper should be able to hang with a club as a guest even once or twice without requiring VCA membership.

Welcome, Leslie. As we discussed today...ALL are WELCOME at our events !!!

Hope to see you soon!

Sounds like all is well :) One thing to note, VCA membership also includes liability insurance that covers the members and the club at events. So it is possible that a region may decide that only VCA members can participate because if a non-member attending causes an incident, the region would not have coverage. With that said, regions in general love non-member Viper owners to participate as most often they do become members... and non-Viper owners attending get Vipers and then become members ;)

yes it is, thanks! I contacted another Viper club to join:)

I attend all kinds of car events without insurance for that particular event, think that's very common for most people

Leslie -

Sorry to hear you are leaving my region. We would have certainly welcomed you into the PA/WV Club. I would be interested to know if that was a "Viper" cruise club that would not allow you to participate.

Hope you can make it to Carlisle again this year. I enjoyed meeting you there last year. It's a great event!

Best wishes on your move.

I think the event insurance is only for US regions as that is the limitaion on the policy, this would be a good question to ask you Zone Director. It also does not cover track event, although individual policies for track events are offered.

Leslie, I can only address your specific insurance question with an example:

As I am responsible to contact K&K Insurance Group for a specific insurance rider (to the VCA's policy with K&K) for our annual autocross at TireRack, I have been informed that said rider covers ALL members AND their guests at this particular event...per "Dennis" in the Motorsports Division...and, therefore, our official application for this event states "Members and Guests".

Based on this info...it is hard for me to imagine that "insurance" played a real role in the response that you were given as you noted above.

Admittedly, I REALLY don't know...and, hopefully, an informed source can enlighten us.

By the way, our Region has officially requested a COPY of the "VCA Policy" so that our leadership and counsel can indeed review same. Our Treasurer has been told that "it is coming".

Steve-you have been WONDERFUL, I am glad I called another Viper club!

My whole point about this thread is that there are very few Vipers as compared to corvettes or other cars-and I think we need to welcome owners with open arms and encourage them to get involved with other owners and keep the snake alive!

I got $100 off my Sebring Viper Days entry fee from national VCA and another $100 off from regional VCA.

N. & Central FL VCA also rents out Gainesville dragstrip once a year.

Our region also has a half dozen or so lunches where I order everything on the menu.

I wouldn't be too concerned about not being allowed to go on a cruise. I can always get a Viper or two to go on a cruise without any VCA help. Maybe your region pays for "cruise fuel?"

Here's the drill.

When you get your Viper VIN, contact your local ViperClub President. He will let you know how to apply for membership.
It takes a while for National to process your membership, but most local Presidents will welcome you immediately, and put you on the list to be invited to all club functions. While your membership is being processed you can also register to all national events, partake in raffles, and generally get into the swing of things.

Welcome to the ViperNation. Full of tons really great people and a few goofballs.

The last club I was in was a excellent club. The early year Vipers were looked at as potentially changing the exclusivity of the club.I thought a car club should only restrict you to owning that type of car regardless of the year.I welcome any and all years.Needless to say I'm no longer a member.Find one that fits and enjoy.
