We have suffered a 55% cancelation rate for this event but we will run the event for those 28 Vipers who have signed up and are coming!! The president asked that we get back to normal and not stay home, further hurting the economy. We have listened and hope that others will either sign up late or just come to the track on Oct 1 & 2 to have an unbelievable amount of open track time!!

Also, for you "First Timers " Skip has been honoring a $100 discount , in addition to the $100 off regular price for VCA members. There will be tons of track time and there is also a $250 special for one day drivers. If you are fairly close this is a rare opportunity to drive on one of America's premier tracks. We have fought to get on Watkins Glen, and Viper Days won't be able to run here next year. Invite your Corvette friends also, as there is a class for them to run in the Michelin Challenge Series.

For anyone even remotely interested in driving at Watkins Glen - don't miss this opportunity! Without the race group with us at the track you will be completely tired and satisfied before you run out of track time. Your cheeks will be sore from grinning so much.

Another group that runs at Watkins Glen is "Trackmasters" Their last event at the Glen is Wednesday and Thursday, October 10th and 11th. THEY ARE COMPLETELY SOLD OUT!

ViperDays has a terrific staff and runs flawlessly. The "bench racing" over cocktails after the events is only exceeded by the sumptious banquet and catered lunches at the track. If you could have a better time it would certainly be illegal or at least taxed very heavily.

Come enjoy this premier track in New England, improve your driving skills, support ViperDays, and just have a blast!

Just returned home from a day trip to check out Skip Thomas' "Viper Days" event at Watkins Glen. WOW...what a great event and a great venue! We were there just as spectators to see what everyone has been raving about. Skip and his people are terrific. We don't know what it cost Skip to put this on for the Viper community in light of the cancellations he experienced due to the tragedy in NYC, D.C. and PA, but it was terrific of him to do it for all the participants. Even though the numbers were limited and a lot of the competition Vipers were down in Sebring, it was still super. The weather was sunny, high 60's with a light breeze and the grass was green and the trees were adorned with the colors of fall. Seneca Lake in the valley below was a deep shade of blue and the sailboats were out with their billowing white sails contrasting against the steel blue of the water...what a sight! Right out of a picture postcard. We walked through the pit lane and climbed up on the timing tower and wandered around the track and strolled through the Winston Cup garages drooling over the Vipers of many colors! Viper Heaven!!!!!! You probably had to be there to really understand the beauty of the whole experience! Special thanks to Courtney Thomas for allowing us to come and spectate! Thanks so much to Skip and his gang for coming to upstate New York and allowing us "upstaters" to enjoy what the rest of the Viper Nation has been enjoying at all the other great racing venues around the Nation. But there is something special about "The Glen". And especially on a perfect fall day in Central New York...

God bless all those lost or affected by loss in our
terrible national tragedy...let the healing begin!!

Eng12, Eng12, Eng12!

That's what your VCA is for. Next time, just call me, or Viper HQ! We would have definitely had a cell phone number for someone there, and the gates would have magically opened!

We had the opposite experience from eng12. (See my previous post above). We drove up to the gate and were greeted by a very pleasant lady. I told her we were there just to spectate and mentioned I had been in touch with Courtney Thomas and she said that was all she needed to hear. She had us both sign the liability release and we went on in. In fact, we drove out of the track about noon to get some lunch in town and drove back in again and she passed us right through. Maybe we just got lucky or had the right lady at the gate? In any event, we feel bad for eng12 because we had a wonderful time as you can see by our previous post!

Bill, why didn't you call me bud? I had my cell phone with me all day, I would have driven to the gate, kicked her butt, and then let you in.
