Vipers in their habitat! The Track

Four Houston members went to Texas World Speedway this weekend. Lots of cars on track but we had a good time.

I'd venture to say she tracks her vert with rollbar more than the average coupe owner!

Mike I saw you on 105 the other day around April Sound heading up to TWS! That Snake Skin Green ACR caught my eye from about a mile away! Glad to see you guys and gal had such a great time! I would love to go out there and hang with you guys next time.

The Pics came out great, the only thing better this weekend was the weather. Couldn't have asked for better. We did represent the marq this weekend it was nice to have so many Vipers at a nonViper Day event! When Beth and I first started going to these Drivers Edge events they had a pretty bad impression of Viper Drivers, I think, at least after this one we did some good changing that.

Lap times Mike..All I wanta know are your lap times

No Timing but probably slower than the GTS for two reasons:
1) About 30 cars in my run group with not enough point bys (I questioned safety several times based on driver attitudes regarding getting passed).
2) Getting used to her.

I did get faster as the weekend went on. I'll be interested in seeing some lap times at the next timed event.

Even though I'm in Cali I made the 3,000 mile round trip to TWS in 2002 for the Viperdays Nationals, I really liked the track. In a stock Gen 2 RT on PS I managed a best of 2:01.04 on the 2.9 mile conf. Good for 3rd place in the Nationals, I'd absolutely love to run a new ACR there.

The event was The Driver's Edge and the run multiple tracks, Harris Hill, TWS, TMS (I think), MSR Houston, MSR Cresson, Hallet and I think they run Eagle Canyon as well. They run a good schedule and they have a lot of cars/drivers show up. This is good and bad at the same time but was a good weekend.

No Viper looks out of place on a track. It make not look as great as the ACRs but it's still where it should be.

I was just wondering if that was Tim in the black ACR and someone confirmed it. Looking good Tim, enjoyed running at h2r with you in Feb. Stay safe out there. You going to the TWS viper days event? I'll be there in May, this time with my snake since I got a roll bar put in after last years Aug event.

Very nice. TWS is a great Viper track. If you want to try some events with less traffic, check out the TWS Performance Driving School events on the TWS web site. The times I have gone, it's been well run but about 1/2 the cars. Same price or less as Drivers Edge. Instruction isn't as structured, so there is that trade off.

First time with Driver's Edge for me. I had heard several things about the group that seemed accurate from the weekend's experience including lots of traffic. I don't mind traffic if the drivers are polite.

I like TWS a lot. Much different than Mid-Ohio, the only track I've had more experience on at this point.

I will be running at HHR for the first time at the round up. I think quite a few people from Houston are coming and a lot of us track our cars. Look forward to seeing you there.
