There is another thread on an AMG forum that I frequent which was quite interesting. The question was asked about what is the meaning of your forum name. It was a great read and interesting to hear how people came up with their user name.

So lets hear it - how did you come up with your user name?

Mine is quite simple, it is my last name. All through my life everyone has called me by my last name. Even people I have met recently who never heard someone call me by my last name gravitate to doing so. I guess it is simple and unique.

Mine's pretty easy to figure out.
But if you can't, you should probably stop huffing the grass.

(250 points to whomever gets that reference)

Same user name as on Piston-Heads web site, I attempted as many Viper variations that I could think of but all were taken! So I figured being as I own a Harley Fat Boy I would use that :) Oh the 18 bit is my Birthday :)

Simple as that :)

The "j" is the first initial of my first name. "deft" has dual meaning for me....

It's a shortened version of defrost, which is a play on my last name.

and the dictionary: "dexterous; nimble; skillful; clever: deft hands; a deft mechanic." is sorta fun.

J, deft one..

Years ago I used it as a P/W (not now).

Mine is the name of a Deadly Snake found on the island of Okinawa, Japan. I was stationed there when I was in the U.S. Air Force. It is also what the local nationals call the SR-71 spy plane that was present on Kadena AB.:usa:

It was the first thing that I said when asked," How did you enjoy your first drive in the viper?" Three vipers later, I'm still saying,"UNREEL" after every drive.

BZZZZZZZZT.

The never before told version, straight up.

Gotta rewind to the early 90's. I had finished building my
second buggy, and the graphics package was a direct extension
of my desire to be as obnoxious as possible, without being
blatantly obscene.

The buggy was know as the Devil's Child, car number 666.

Other interesting tidbits about that period in time:

-> It was fashionable for excessively religious people to take
their Mossberg's and pump a couple of rounds in abortion clinic
doctors, as they were most certainly doing the Devil's work.

-> I live in the Bible Belt. Google it if you need more info on
that. Anyway, I had people coming up to me and asking if I
worshiped the Devil.

:hmmm: :hmmm: :hmmm:

So, I redecorated the car as WAY FUN, car number 66.

Fast forward to March of 2000. I was getting signed up on
ebay. I think that is the first place I ever had to pick a
screen name and password. I hadn't changed a bit, and dave666
was my first choice. It was taken.

:evilmad: :evilmad: :evilmad:

I added another 6 and I was in. dave6666 on ebay was my first
screen name ever and it has stuck with me. I do however give a
shorter version of this by simply saying it is my car number
twice. Which it is.

I hope you appreciate me taking the time on this. The phone has
been ringing and I'm sure it's the splitter/pilsner/aero/ale
help line.

Dave- you told that story last year.
It might even be in the Chicks/Vipers thread (complimenting a post featuring the bikini-clad beauties above).

I was researching Vipers trying to find a unique name for the board when I ran across this tidbit about rattlesnakes:

"Rattlesnakes belong to the pit viper family Crotalidae, so named because all possess visible loreal pits, or lateral heat sensory organs, between eye and nostril on each side of the head. These heat sensory pits are not present in true vipers, which do not occur in the Western Hemisphere."

So, since rattlesnakes are not real vipers, but I still like rattlesnakes, and wanted to be true to the spirit of the car's namesake, UNRATLD (unrattled) became my forum name. I gave it the truncation of UNRATLD because I originally intended to use it for my license tag, which in Florida has a 7 character limit, but after seeing how many idiots wanted to race me on the highways, I decided against any sort of antagonistic personalized tag.

If you're wondering what I could possibly like about rattlesnakes, it's their disposition. They give people fair warning and plenty of chances to leave them alone. If the person insists on bothering them, they pump the idiot full of venom. Always seemed equitable to me.

Mine is pretty simple. It would look better if the apostrophe was there but extra characters are not permitted on this site. It should read;

Rob'Z

My name is Robert and I am a diehard 300ZX Twin Turbo enthusiast.

Dave, I took a moment to edit your post for content, to run in the time alloted, and formatted it to fit your screen.

...and I was gonna say it was your ebay password, so can I get at least partial credit?

Mine: I was quite the chick-magnet in my younger days and have always been a legend in my own mind. My wife was standing over my shoulder when I chose "BolsDeep." She thought it was a little much, even for me.

Drivel.

There was no 2002 mustang cobra and the initial name for it was "terminator." I ended up buying a 2003 Terminator as they skipped the 02 MY. Now I have a 2000 ACR and couldnt be happier:headbang:

I was having problems with user names being "Taken" so I researched into the Old Testament and found Eliem (one of David's mighty men) which worked great until a 12 year old Cuban boy named Eliem floated to Florida on a raft and became world famous.

So I had to go to Eliems.

My screen name is pretty simple and like Dave it was created while setting up my ebay account.

Last name is Ratica. Nickname in school was Ratical or Ratman. Never really cared for the second name.

It became more fitting when I moved to California

Rati Cal

Ratical1 was taken so I chose Ratical2

I wanted "Ratical"on my plate, but as you might imagine that was gone.
