Well, Well, more comments posted by those who were not there and do not know. PVO hosted a seminar on both the competition coupe and the SRT. And of course, most of us have driven it now. John Fernandez was in attendance and did respond to some of our more pointed questions. I took some voluminous notes and I intend to post them tommorow, but I gotta get some sleep, How about some teasers from John..."the car magazines are under an embargo to say NOTHING about their tests until next month, but how about this, 0-60 under 4.0, 7% improvement in drag, 1.15 continual lateral acceleration." Couple of other teasers, gearbox and rear based on GTSR... I expect the comments will start tommorow, when everyone who drove it gets back...Chris Marshall has already posted his thoughts...but those of us that drove it now recognize it may not be as outrageous looking as our Gen 2 cars, (I am keeping the GTS forever!) but stock to stock it is a much better performer.... Bad news...John said they would not start shipping until mid November. Only 60 cars have been built as of yesterday. The first 250 cars are going to be held until they are perfect! Oh, the 12.1 run was done by Herb Helbig in a car he drove direct to Bowling Green with his luggage still in the trunk. And as EVERYONE has posted the track was not ideal at all, this is an 11.0 sec. car! One more teaser per the PVO guys, rollbar package available after the first of the year, not done by DC but with their input. I'll post all my notes from the seminar tommorow. Don't worry Brunton, you're gonna love it! 1Bad you are right on with that prediction of mid 11.0. I'm telling you guys as strong as this car felt, I believe a Jaime Furman or a driver like Evan could get a very low 11.0, I don't think a 10.9 is out of the question. Wait till I post the torque numbers and rpm ranges John gave us..

Lee,
Thanks for the notes - I agree with you 100%! I am lucky in that I have an inside source at one of the rags that was at the Cali event participatig in the testing, so I already knew what "the numbers" were - so when I see people cringe when they read 12.0@120, I know they are being premature.
I believe Jason Heffner has already hit 11.5's in a pretty much stock GTS. GTS's max out at trap speeds of 120-121... never seen anything higher than 121 (and my best ever was 120.5). The new car I bet will trap 123 or so, and I bet some guys will be in the 124 range. 124 is a heck of a lot of MPH, and surely enough to run a very low 11... easily an 11.2 on a super sticky track. With drag radials, maybe 11.0. Maybe, MAYBE with ET streets this car could run in the 10's - I think it could happen with a sub-1.5 short time.
