Whats my 96 Blue & White worth ?

Thinking about selling my viper. Other than the mod's listed on my signature, i have replaced all the rubber in the doors and all the window motors.It will come with two sets of wheels ( 96 and chrome 00 )

GTS-R-001 yes, Except the 308 gears.



96GTs Yes, The gears and the flywheel were great mods. The rockers and the complete exhaust Made a big sop difference.

I also agree the range could be $40-45K. Priced at $40k it would sell very quickly. Priced at $45k it could take a while so a lot depends on how fast you want to sell it.

Of course I did - I'm the one that started that thread! I probably would have wound up buying that car if it wasn't in California and was within distance to check out in person.

Sorry to disagree here. I think if you sell for 40k, you are taking way under what the car is worth. You also stated you have the original parts. That is a plus. Extra wheels too! 45 to 48k. Blue and White. Desirable. High season.

I agree with PatentLaw's statements. My thoughts.. you have some miles on it, so what, so do alot of Porsche's, and some of them are still bringing good money, the 993's. 40k is too low for a B/W, unless it was driven very hard, beat up, whatever.
You have some mods too, not a bad thing. Yea, Stock cars bring a little more sometimes, but the right mods shouldn't detract from a sale with the right person. JMHO - if it's in great shape cosmetically - 45k the way it is, mods, wheels, etc. Good luck with the decision.

I don't think he'll get $45-$48k with 45000 miles. As others have pointed out, he could get closer to $45k if he's willing to wait around for a long time and deal with a gazillion tire kickers and deadbeats. But I think he'll have to come down if he wants a quicker sale.

I've been watching the B/W market closely over the past couple of months and have seen the B/W's with 30k+ miles sell at $40-42k. Just last week a clean one owner with 33k miles sold for $40.5k.

I don't think I've seen a single car with over 40k miles sell for $45k+. Even BDZ1984's car, which is the most beautiful high mileage B/W I've come across, sat around for months and months asking $45k without any success. I think he finally gave up last week and pulled down the ad.

if you are going to do it, better do it soon or you will have to wait till next year. values tend to go down the closer we get into winter. values are normally up during the summer driving months.

I would say 40-45 is a good guess. It is hard to compare Viper's to Porsche's because normally Viper mileage is ultra low. I would guess 90% of all Viper's for sale have less than 20k miles on them. I would say 50% have less than 10k miles. While 45k miles might not seam like a lot, it is very high for a Viper, and you are competing with dozens of lower mileage cars. Good luck with the sale.

Considering the mileage (yes yes, I know I know) and the modifications....you will be hard pressed to get 45k for it. It is hard to convince someone that the car is in good condition and hasn't been beaten. If it is in very good condition (especially cosmetically), has no mechanical issues, you provided a printout of a Viper Tech inspection, perhaps with contact information from said tech about the car, got a printout of all known service history from a Dodge Dealer, and any other documentation and when speaking with a prospective buyer sounded very knowledgable of the car and its history, then you may be able to convince someone that it is a good buy, especially cause B/W makes people all warm and fuzzy inside.

In this market you can pick up a GTS with 1/5 the miles for around that price, not a B/W, but still. Unless you find someone die hard about purchasing a B/W then anything in the mid 40s will be tough. You could sell your car quickly for 40k, 45k will take several months and some good marketing/sales on your part. Or just the RIGHT buyer.

It's a buyers market right now. There are many cheap Vipers out there.

There seems to be a glut of Vipers for sale lately, the very few prospective Viper owners have a lot to choose from. I know of two Blue and Whites locally for sale with much lower mileage and they are not moving. Higher mileage ones regardless of color are going to have to be priced right.

i could not disagree more with the words you stated above! the cars are rare. even more rare if it is clean and not hit/repaired/repainted. these cars may drop a tad from where we see them today but after a short time span, you will see bigger dollars for superb examples of these cars, and that is evident in todays market in some regards. i would not sell the 96 for less than 45k period. it may not be a fast sale but unless your totally strapped for the cash why not get what its worth. advertise it right and she will attract the right crowd.

I never said our cars are tanking in value and you should get out while you can. What I did say was they are dropping every year. The average price for a clean Gen2 is less this year than it was 2 years ago. I know for a fact, it will be even less 2 years from now. Now if you want to project 25 years from now that might be a different story. Mass produced cars depreciate in the first 15+ years of their life. I am not trying to be a glass half empty guy but rather a realist. Currently there is more supply than demand. While that is the case, the prices will drop.

As they drop in price, the demand will increase as the audiance of prospective buyers increases based soley on the affordability of the now "less" expensive car.

There are a LOT of people who will spend 35K for a "toy", not as many for a 45K - 50K toy.
