I am a newbie to this site! I have a C5 Vett and a Gallardo and am thinking about getting a 2008 Viper. I would like to see one in person before I plonk down that ammount of cash!

I live in the SF Bay area and after searching the web have not seen a single Dodge dealership that has a 2008 even advertized. If they are not actully out yet does anybody know when.

Any consensus on who is a good dealer to work here in the San Francisco area?

Probably see them in dealerships about September.

Looks like there has been a significant amount of pre-orders, with some of the early color options already sold out.

Dodge will be limiting the production of these cars so as not to get into the overstock problem they faced in years past. Think they are only building to order for dealership hard orders.

Will probably be hard to get exactly what you want when they first come out, as the demand for this new 600 hp model will probably exceed production.

The new cars look essentially the same as the current car, with the exception of the hood, some interior and wheel options.

When the car magazine get past their embargo dates, some very favorable articles should be released which should fan the flames of desire. At that point people that have put in their orders early will be rewarded.

demand may exceed production, for maybe the first year(MAYBE), '04-'06 model years prove that if they want to make a butt load of they can, and the new and resale prices reflect that !!!!!

I'd call Woodhouse and ask them. I'm sure they have a long line of people waiting for their '08 to come in soon.

Forgive what may be (another) stupid question, but Woodhouse is in the midwest somewhere (NE, whatever state that is!). I am here in San Francisco Bay area CA. Are you saying order it sight unseen from there. What about service, followup etc. Is there not a good dealer in the Bay area people have used. What is the advantage of this Woodhouse group?

time for delivery from order can vary depending on color run sequence, holidays, and most importantly when a full Reliable truck can be loaded into your area. Delivery time could be substantialy cut down if you take CAAP delivery and go pick it up your self.

There are no stupid questions. Just inquiring minds.;)
Here is a thread for newbies/Dodge Dealerships from around the country.
It's two pages worth of information that might be helpful for you.

Yes, people are ordering sight unseen and the 2008's will not be out until September.
If you want to find out about service in your area maybe start calling the Dodge dealerships to see if they have a certified Viper Tech on the premises.
An advantage to Woodhouse is that they are one of the largest dealers in the country.
Many happy Viper owners have come from Woodhouse-in all areas of the U.S.A.
Woodhouse(Bill Pemberton) helped us with our first Viper and arranged for us to pick it up in person at the factory-Conner Avenue Assembley Plant-(CAAP). The other two we had shipped to us.

OK, I guess I am getting there....
First Venomiss, thanks for the welcome and the "feel at home spirit". I read through the tread you suggested, however there seems to be no CA dealers mentioned. I see occasional Vipers around here. Anybody got a good service name for northern CA?
Well it sounds like I may have to fly to NE (BTW what state is that?) to see/feel an '08 before I buy one!
Chuck 98 RT/10, hear what you are saying. Not sure what the later treads are hinting at however.
I have had a number of high performance cars over the years. 3 Diablo’s or example and run an active DIY'er Lamborghini web site (www.lamboweb.com) , but I held off earlier Vipers because by all accounts I heard they were fun to drive so long as you drive in a straight line. Now I have had my share of spinouts in Diablo’s but was always put off by stories I have heard about Vipers. What has me rethinking the Viper is the new double clutch, 3 stage syncros on gears and new rear antislip differential in the ’08. What’s the consensus; do you experienced experts feel the ’08 car will be a little better at handling corners? Could you for example get around a 240 degree highway intersection loop continuously at say > 60MPH?

Blair Nebraska. Home of a great big Viper pit.:D Call Bill.
This year it may be a bit hard to come by a 2008..good luck!
Many on the boards here and in our local club own Lambo's and many other exotics along with Vipers. On the home page they have a listing for the Northern CA Viper club-e-mail them and see what they say for CA dealers. Here is the thread.
