I've had a 94 for about 20 years. The comment above about the alarm is where I'd start. It can be very difficult to get the alarm to turn off once it's turned on. I find that holding it close to the driver side hood vent sometimes helps, sort of a weak signal problem from the remote. (first...
Check very carefully for leaks around the heads. Head gaskets were cheap and needed replacing on most cars and it's not a cheap repair. I would also suggest letting Dan Craigen go through it prior to purchase. He's the best on the west coast. I know from experience.
I totally can relate to your story, thanks for sharing. I thought I was the only one..... LOL
By the way, the problem with needing to push the clutch in ALL THE WAY may be related to the bushings the pedals hang on. They are notorious for wearing out. I've replaced mine and it made a big...
Installed a set of T&D's and they have been working perfectly.
I've posted many times about these rockers, in short I think they're crap. Just my opinion.
I used it once, never again. I have a multitude of small gas engines, lawnmowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers etc. Some of them sit for months and never get used. I never had a single carburator problem until I started mixing stabil in the gas. Within a month or two I started getting gummed up...
I would imagine you have crower rockers. If you do, you should change them or at a minimum have them closely inspected. If you want to know why I'll send pics.
Chiplee, Welcome Sir.
I have a feeling you'll soon be a part of this madness, trust me you won't regret it. I purchased my gen 1 from a Marine F-18 pilot. I can send you his name if you want, great guy and he treated me right. I know the community is relatively small and you may know him...
"Next I hooked it up to my car, yes a spark, Traced it and the security system has some battery draw."
How much amperage is the security system drawing?
A brief story about an incident I witnessed first hand while serving in the Marines.
I had formed a very close nit shop of technicians. We worked together, fought together, partied together and shared a lot of good and bad times together. In short we had formed a bond like a group of people...
I'll step up and second that comment. My Gen 1 came with crower's and I replaced them just before something catastrophic happened. If you want I can send you pics of what I found. In short I believe the problem was incorrect geometry. (hearsay)
You're right Vipermad, If it were a prius maybe disconnecting the battery would shut it down (grin) but in normal circumstances I don't think disconnecting the battery when the car is running will shut it down.
No Marv, I've got a 'Nagrivator' she would kill to be in it again. Unfortunately we're probably a year away from attending events. We're starting a new business and my time and money are invested heavily.
Why not try to hook up with someone going to the Silver State Classic Sept 14 - 17th. There will be a standing mile with some high HP cars. I highly recommend it especially since you're already in that neighborhood.
Actually John, Dan and the entire WCV shop is like that. He once loaned me a set of wheels to use in the Standing Mile, and the Silver State Classic @ no cost. He has given me tons of advice and assistance over the years. I've learned lots from them. They are a great bunch and an asset.
