Speaking from someone who has participated in this event and 'was' a little disappointed that I am going to be running Thunderhill Viperdays and as such couldn't participate this year, I'm now EXTREMELY disappointed that the event has been hijacked without due process. How about asking past...
I just tossed an entire set of OEM rollers and honestly I'm glad I did. Although, I put OEM back in the design of the oil port for the new lifter is better. If I remember correctly the oil port was on the bottom (or maybe the side) for the original lifters and with the newer part number it is on...
Rain or shine, I'll still be there. I learned last year that Vipers don't melt when wet. They do however, slide a lot easire. :2tu: I'll be bringing my garden hose for those who like off roading in the mud. :D (personal experience)
I agree, it does kinda make it difficult on such short notice. With Button Willow and Thunderhill Viperdays being only 3 weeks apart and a trip to Vegas between them makes it impractical for me. Why can't I just win the lottery instead of working. :)
If you are able to, I would ask to see the original calipers and ensure they have not gotten hot, if they have the white 'viper' will appear golden or brown. It is just a sign that the car was on the track.
In my opinion aftermarket brake calipers are a good thing.
I would also be curious as...
I guess I just don't understand business. Why is that same nitrous system is for sale on this board see it here when it is for sale on a car that was for sale (minus the engine) a few weeks ago. Now, the car not only has an engine but one with an incredible nitrous system, and if my aging memory...
The viper days folks use the chatterbox units.
I have tried and with limited success found them all but unusable. I have tried to use them in two silver state challenges and both times as I approach my terminal velocity >150mph I find myself unable to communicate with my navigator and...
Eric,
Start the car; pull the 'negative' wire off the alternator.
If the car dies get a new alternator. If not, load test the battery.
Suspect the easy stuff first. I'd worry about a good ground last.
I was parked about 50 yards south of the SD gang. Talked with Dave, Jesse and several...
I got a $2 tour a few weeks ago. It's a much larger facility. I can only imagine the work and time that has gone into the move must be very overwhelming. I'm sure it will be worth it for all John's loyal customers. They have definately not gone away only morphing into a bigger stronger super...
I'd do it for ya Chuck the only problem is that I'm not exactly between Button Willow and Thunderhill. I am near an airport (Ontario) though. The offer is on the table.
I'm thinking Redsled may be able to come up with something near Bakersfield (Button Willow).
I'm on my second V1. My daughter, who is very much like me in the need for speed department, inherited my last one. I'm a very $ concious person and really had a difficult time parting with the $$ for a new V1. I can say beyond a doubt it is the best accessory you can purchase for ANY Viper, old...
'WHEN' the head gaskets go the new multilayer metal gaskets run around ~$600 for a set. The new head bolts (mandantory) are another couple hundred. Next add the other miscellaneous taxes, fluids, gaskets, bandaids, beer and obligatory honey do's (because you're spending so much time with the new...
Not sure what the "low-budget" remark is aimed at, however, I should have qualified my remark by saying "1 Gen 2 GTS that wasn't a cream puff" my mistake.
WUSS.....!!!! Come on... everyone knows it's a dry heat
(actually I'm with you, looks like I'd be buying a cool shirt just to keep me ALIVE, never mind comfortable, its bound to be 120 in the shade and no shade especially in my black gen 1 RT)
