Re: Viper owners did you put your front license plates on your car..if still required
In the last several years, I've never been stopped for it on the Viper but I have twice in the Chrysler 300. The 300 now has the ugly thing.
Those of you with the CTVs, do you have the 6 speed, especially with the wagon model? I test drove a 2010 CTV sedan but I though it was little noisy (tires) for a luxury car; I liked my SRT8 300 much better for almost half the money.
I've looked into this. It's not the mailman; they get it like that. It's some kind of USPS magazine processor. It'll flatten out eventually if you keep it stacked.
The Borlas sound real good and have the deeper sound than the Corsas but the drone isn't worth it, especially if you drive longer distances. You can probably put up with just about anything for about a half hour or less. If you're young (real young) probably more so but if you're old, probably...
I think this would be especially true with noise control. The HF cats without the crossovers introduced a lot of DRONE. Corsas are good for killing or reducing drone.
It could be the most dangerous car which is why some of us (or maybe most of us?) buy it!
Take it out on a very large wide open parking lot some quiet Sunday morning with no one and nothing to hit. Try to do some crazy things like stab the throttle while turned and see what it does.
With all the confusion here, what did you end up doing? It's hard to post a question on this website without a debate among the responses! I think it depends on the situation you run into. If the result is adverse, then you will say I should have used the other method! :D
I have had hi flo cats with stock cross overs and then stock cats without crossovers. Removing the crossovers did a lot more for the heat removal than the cat change did. Theoretically it doesn't make sense. I would have sworn the stock cats were more the culprit than the crossovers but my...
I have done it off my back in my garage - twice. I may do it again later when I move into a garage big enough. The front sill screw that is difficult to get at doesn't have to be removed - just loosened because it's slotted. You should be in fairly good condition to work off your back. Just...
Be careful to distinguish cats and mufflers when talking about loudness, tone, and drone. Hi-flo cats add loudness and dronability in themselves. Corsas are best at reducing drone.
It's not too horrible - I thought it was worse until I actually opened the link. This guy's idea of customizing - very similar to that camp that think chrome fender liners are cool. Hmmm....I wonder how good the chrome liners would look on my fenders. :D
I definitely like the idea of the custom paint/stripes/interior/wheels but that shouldn't slow down things too much. Yes, JonB, 2 to 3 thousand a year maybe even 5 thousand would be a great shot in the arm and it's still very low volume. That would help the MSRP from getting too outrageous...
I draw the line at 20 inches and that's too big for some cars, particularly the older ones where the fender proportions were not designed for such large wheels.
I loved that violet and wished more had stepped up to that color; I wasn't in a position at the time to do so but I would have ordered it with silver stripes.
I have never left the hood open in six years and 30K miles and my engine and hood are both doing fine. Geez, the stuff people put in their heads. You have hood vents and get this: The heat will also dissipate underneath the car! I do believe leaving the hood open will add wear to the struts...
