Cut the passenger side open and this is what one should see - everything intact right ?
This is our culprit of a crappy running Viper
Totally plugged - What a piece of crap cats these cars have :curse:
Whats up with all these exhaust issues ? We didn't hear any exhaust leaks but I'll take a look around with my inspection camera. I don't plan on taking anything else off or tearing it down any further
Thanks everyone for the good advice. Both cats are off and my initial assessment is that the drivers cat is bad. when handling it i can hear all kinds of stuff rattle inside and then when i shook it all kinds of dark crap/metal looking stuff fell out. I've been taking pics so I will post them up...
Thanks Steve - He bought at a broker type (exotic) dealer. No warranty implied / as is but probably one of the cleanest Vipers I've seen. I will check the damper bolt while I'm at it. I'm going after the cats / makes the most sense - he wants a little more sound anyway. probably buy Roe's cat...
Calling out for some help on this one. A friend of mine buys a 2004 SRT with only 18k miles a month ago. He bought a Viper because I talked him into it. He bought it less than a month ago from a dealer in Chicago and has put less than 1k miles on it since owning it. He’s never owned one before...
Thanks and while I can't do it anymore my friend that still works in a machine shop, he might be able to do a few - it's not hard but mostly time consuming because of the set up and different fixtures you have to make. If you have 4 or 5 to do at one time then it's sort of worth it. Anyway if...
Hey Dan I may be interested in a rotating assembly for a GenI
How much to ship to 46237 ? You can drop ship as well
I'm contemplating do a stroker so...........
I've modified around 30+ GenI TB's - I don't do it anymore - don't have access to a machine shop anymore - different line of work now
GenI TB openings is about 58mm and chokes down to 56mm
GenII TB openings are pretty much a straight bore of 62mm. That's just about the most you can fit in...
One more thing I rely on alot - that's knowing my NOS pressure. I know what I got and how much at all times. I also modified my openers and they work flawless. But it helps knowing when they're open (gauge) and when they're closed. If you lay on the openers (closing them - not knowing they're...
My Bottle Brackets are From Chris Alston's Chassisworks
15-degree dual rack
Here's a link
Chris Alston's Chassisworks
The clamps they come with are cheap. I run 2 bottles for both the volume and it's best to have the bottles to face forward and not sideways.
Oh and I didn't paint my...
Not a fan of the plate type but then again I've never used it. NX's shark nozzles has always worked good for me. IMO NX is the best out there for Viper (especially for the money) and better yet no tune is needed if you keep it below a 200 shot. A 200 is very safe on a V10. I strongly recommend...
I know I'm going to end up giving Paul Scharf a call but I thought I would try here first as someone may have one laying around collecting dust and may want to clean out their garage
Looking for a Gen1 short block - must include maincaps and a rebuildable Crank and no cracked blocks please...
It's an 02 RT10 and the speedo will spike (sometimes up to 100mph) if you give the gas a quick blip while sitting still. All other gages work fine. The Speedo works fine once you start moving. It seems to only do it when stopped
Anyone heard / seen that one before ?
