Sounds like your car is in limp home mode for some reason. Jon B is right, you should have you dealer come out and take a look or come and get it. It's hard to guess what might be wrong without more information, it's probably something simple so don't get too worried just yet. Let us know what...
OK, this is all you are going to get for now (so don't ask for more!). We have added the number of ARY's (Aero Package) and ACR's for each color. To break it down further (stripe color, options, etc.) will take more time than we have for this right now.
12/02 UPDATE!!! - Looks like there was...
Happy Thanksgiving Viper Nation! Here's a Turkey Day present from us to you, a little spreadsheet that shows the 2008 production numbers by color and body style. As you can see, Venom red had the highest production numbers while Viper Violet was the lowest. Hopefully this answers some of your...
Hello Viper Nation,
We wanted to let you all know that Pete Gladysz, one of the last original Viper Team members is retiring from Chrysler after 32 years. Pete has been so instrumental in so many projects over the years we're not sure how we are going to carry on without him! But knowing Pete...
New info after checking with the rest of the team - MOPAR car cover PN 68039585AA which is used at the plant as part of the protection package does work with the ARY spoiler on the convertible. We tried it on one of our cars here in the shop and no problem. Hope this helps!
Crayne,
There is no specific car cover available from SRT for the convertible with the aero package. The ACR cover will likely be a bit loose but that may be your only option. We will look into it further and let you know if there are any other options we can find.
Redtanrt10 - Sorry but we can't offer more than the $50 gas card. If you do hold off with the Belangers we would still like to take data from your car, it's up to you.
Glenn - Look for Paul and thanks for your offer!
There is an SRT Track Experience event at Fontana December 5, 6 and 7. The Chrysler "In Use" folks who set this up thought that since this event was an SRT event there would naturally be a bunch of Vipers in attendance. Regardless, Paul Cormany from Chrysler will be there hoping to get data from...

Each year, car manufacturers selling vehicles in California are required to provide CARB with "in use" OBD and emissions data for their year old products. On December 6 and 7, there is a Viper event planned in Fontana, California and we need to take a quick data sample from as many customer 2008...

This question has come up a few times on this forum with some misinformation being passed along - Just for the record; 15W-50 will work fine in the 2008 engine. The only downside might be a slight drop in fuel economy (0.2 to 0.5 mpg if you can measure it or if you care!). The 0W-40 oil was...
The Voltmeter operation is quite a bit different than in the past... the charging system is controlled by the VENOM engine controller, and uses a different charging strategy than the JTEC did for GEN II and III. And yes, the alternator "idiot light" now bulb checks with the engine off and...
Both... yes... though we have found that it works well with the three major weights 0W40 / 10W30 / 15W50 (race only)
Issues really only arise under high temp / low pressure conditions... The controller automatically increases idle speed as oil temps rise to help aid oil pressure under those...
Don't all tires?
The PS Cups are fantastic. During the development of the ACR we were always impressed at how well they performed and held up over repeated track outings.
1. The ACR suspension was developed with the production Pilot Sport Cup tires and Sidewinder wheels. Without testing, it is difficult to say how changing the wheel/tire assemblies will affect handling. Besides handling concerns, there is also a tire-to-body interference concern. Even with the...
