I have been roadracing my GenII Viper the last 20k miles in the past 2 yrs.
I am an instructor, so I push the car..... but don't abuse it:)
Car is driving stronger than ever!
You are one lucky dude! Almost got bit, huh? :)Take it out in an empty parking lot and have some fun getting to know your Viper.Beautiful Viper btw, wish mine was that clean!
you DO need to make sure your power steering fluid isn't overfilled, it WILL spit out all over your hood if you don't take a little out. Yes, make sure the cap is on tight.
and make sure your brake fluid is ONLY up to the 'fill' line, NO more, because it will bleed out and affect your brake...
What he said! No DR's on a road course...do a brake fluid flush with a god Dot 4 like Motul 600... make sure it's not overly full or mast cyl will 'weep'.. Same with power steering fluid, take a little out and make sure the cap is on TIGHT... and add a qt of oil.
I was at Gingerman today...
Great post, I was driving all over town looking for 15/50, setttled for 10/40 just because I had a track event and I always change fluids.
Glad to hear Walmat's going to start carrying again:)
A month ago Autozone had a deal going, Mobil 1, 5qt and a filter for $32.
I am picky about my brake fluid, as soon as I get it I keep it in my house and use it right away! ...but I also track my Viper and want fresh fluid every month:)
The other fluids I have kept in my garage for years and used from opem containers without any problems!
