I believe that the R6 is the tire you want.
The "A" in A6 stands for autocross I believe, and they're made to heat up quickly for an autocross course or quick qualifying laps on a road course.
The "R" in R6 stands for road racing or similar I believe, and they are made with a more durable...
I'm looking at replacing my stereo system.
Here's what I'm doing:
Replacing the stock head unit (1 1/2 DIN size) with 2 single DIN units (a head unit and a police scanner.)
Putting a single 8 inch subwoofer in the center console in place of the stock subwoofer (will need to create a custom...
Those look nice.
Even their biggest one weighs only 21 pounds.
I think that the carbon fiber ones are a waste, however, as the only difference I can tell between the cf and their standard ultralight batteries is cosmetic. Because our batteries are hidden, it seems like these would be a better...
Re: Have a SRT 10 Coupe...thinking of getting daily driver/ road race car..
I second the STi recommendation.
Awesome car in any weather. Fun to drive on the street, on the track, or in the dirt.
I've ditched my runflats.
Anyone know of a decent tire inflation kit I could keep in my trunk for emergencies?
I've heard of tire inflation kits but never actually seen or used one.
Re: Best radar detecto?
Depending on what state you are in, you may want to get radar detector with a laser jammer. Escort sells a laser jammer that works very well and is compatible with their radar detectors.
Valentine is my favorite radar-only unit. The arrows really are useful. It...
If you are thinking about letting an inexperienced shop modify your car . . . DON'T.
I made the mistake of trusting my Viper to a local Colorado shop without specific Viper experience. My car is now at DC Performance in California getting all the stuff fixed that the local shop screwed up...
JM Striker heads are the best you can buy.
They are not machined stock heads. They are completely new castings.

They aren't cheap, however.
I don't share your optomistic view of the government "not getting carried away."
I think they "got carried away" when they imposed the 55mph speed limit. I think that they will continue to chip away at our privacy and freedom in the name of safety and efficiency.
This is currently under serious consideration in England.
When I was in London last month, it was being debated heavily on the news.
They are considering both charging drivers based on how much they drive, and also giving speeding tickets automatically. The gps device knows the speed limit of...
Re: How much will it weigh (08\' Viper)
It's not just the tire weight, but the wheel weight.
Runflats require a much stronger (heavier) wheel. Non-runflats allow the use of a lighter weight wheel. So, the combination of the non-runflats and lighter wheels adds up to significant weight savings.
Re: How much will it weigh (08\' Viper)
That sounds about right to me.
Lighter:
Wheels and tires; clutch and flywheel; exhaust.
Heavier:
Transmission; differential; some engine stuff
I'm guessing that pretty much everything else was pretty much the same.
80 pounds net loss would be in...
I am waiting to see the curb weight numbers.
I'm already impressed by what they've done with the engine and drive train. (And I love the new dark red color.)
Right now, I'd say that the upgrade deserves an "A"
If they've pared down the weight as well, I'd give it an "A+++++"
My only...

I would add an accusump and comp coupe oil pan to your mod list.
A Quaife would make a nice addition as well.
As for your original question, I went with natural aspiration. Not as much power as forced induction, but heat isn't as much of an issue.
If you are worried about heat (no...
