OK, lets try this again. try this: Go to the "General Viper Discussion" forum and look for the post "Viper parts Catalogs Available Here" posted recently by "Racer Robbie". Scroll down the page and pick the one you need. Good Luck.
Simple fact of the matter is that U.S. Auto Manufacturers keep building vehicles the U.S. consumers don't want. Buyers can find a better priced, better equipped alternative too U.S. brands right at there home town dealer. The American car industry is driven by false numbers that tout production...
It seems hard to predict the production of a limited model by a financially shakey car company two years out. Frankly, I have to wonder what a sales challanged GM would do with a sales challanged Chrysler line? (Kind'a like Sears buying K Mart!)
Don't forget, when you install your after market headers, Don't beat a dent in them. You can probably just shim the right motor mount to gain needed clearance to the frame.
Had a heck of a time replacing mine last fall. Then the fuel line and filter parted company one day in a local (thank God) parking lot, spraying gas every where. Had to flatbed the car to a dealer, who replaced the offending filter with a new one, with no problem (that is except for the usual gas...
Where have I heard of this problem before. Remember some of you the old TSB 18-32-97? It delt with a drop in RPM as a result of a perseived misfire @ 5500 RPM. This sounds quit similar. Is it possible, a new design with a old problem recurring?
Gerald, what joy. Congratulations. I don't want to sound doubful but.... enjoy it while it lasts. When you have achieved a full season of driving your Viper and several thousand miles w/o a problem, then I will believe you have fixed it. My experiance has been a simple battery bump etc will fix...
Jerry, I admire your resolve concerning this issue. Most respondents will tell you that there is no one lasting solution for this problem. Most all of us have experienced it from time to time, modified or not. One time is TOO many. I find it disappointing that DC can engineer a replacement part...
You keep asking about "Header Wrap". Do Not wrap your header system with that stuff. You will burn your header pipes out. This is not to be confused with the stock heat shields. Do use a heat coating. Very effective. (JD)
Ya, my timing cover gasket leaked after about 20K miles. Haven't had it leak since I replaced 30K miles ago. This is a fairly common problem that seems to go away once the gasket has been replaced. You can try some "leak dye" if you want to, but I would suggest you simply replace the T/C gasket...
I to use the Garman portable GPS. My unit is the "Street Pilot III" with auto routing and voice. I would recommend the "Deluxe Package" which includes a 128MB data card. Also included is a USB Data card programer which makes map down loads fast and easy. The stand alone price of the 128MB data...
They are perfectly fine for charging. No Problem. Sometime down the road though, you might want to pull your rear wheel, pop the panel and inspect the battery and connections. Vipers require optimum current voltage to run properly. Don't forget to check for corosion in the tray.
Just open your hood and look for the post with the plastic cap (drivers side). Remove the cap. This is the (+ positive conection) . Hook your (- ground) cable to any suitible location.
I had a set, and they were perfectly fine. Very loud. You might want to get them hi temp coated to cut down on the heat in the engine compartment, as the heat shields will not fit. As far as the issue of the header hitting on the right frame, you will need to simply add or remove a shim from the...
According to my issue of "Cat Fancy" magazine, the hi flow ones are the cats with the bobbed tails! Someone else will have to supply the pictures and numbers and a streight answer. Sorry, I couldn't resist. LOL
I might say my hood springs worked just fine until I decided to lubricate them. BIG MISTAKE ! They haven't worked well since. You can lube the catch and slide but I recommend you don't lube the hinges. If you have, wash them out with a high pressure wash, and they should work better than not...
Yikes! It could have been worse, but thankfully the car exhaust was cool when the fuel filter parted company with the fuel line, subsequently drenching the the rear bottom with gas. I changed the filter just 200 miles ago, and never had a problem like this before. The filter and clip on the...
Try not to flip, but I thought I might throw in the Lotus Elise. 13.6 1/4 mile and a 0-60 in 4.7 sec.... all this from a 190 HP 1500 lb little bomb that cost about 1/3 the cost of a Viper new! What, not fast enough? Try chasing one on a twisty road. (JD)
Re: If there\'s ever a time to join the VCA............
Ah, now I see, it's better than a complimentary calendar, it's a stock Viper with decals and fufu. A must have for some. I will save my money for a new coupe (if DC ever builds one)
Have 'em on my '97 GTS Venom 650R. They stop OK and don't fade like the stock ones. I'd recommend them for the street. I would be a little more selective if I were to looking for a race application. Cross drilling would not be my first choice. Remember though, what's good for the track ain't...
I am not sure what 355mm equates to in inches, but I can tell you that the Brembo upgrade I did on my 97 GTS helped.
If you have a Viper with 17" wheels, you are limited to rotor size. Frankly, there are many good systems out there. Except for late model ABS, there is practically nothing that is...
