    Electrical Problems

For what it's worth, I had a similar problem with my 97 GTS this past spring. Although the model years are quit different, some problems can be the same. This one made me nuts. After several battery replacements, and charging system tests, all I could come up with was a intermittent excessive...

    Rear hatch struts

Don't know about everyone else, but my 97 hatch has always popped just enough to get a finger hold. A slight assist is needed to raise the hatch. The struts do however hold it in place when raised.

    Does anyone..........

Kawalski, I am referring to TSB No: 18-15-97 dated Apr.11,1997 Symptom/condition 1. intermittent hesitation between 4 and 5 thousand RPM 2 Intermittent (MIL) indicator with no diagnostic codes (DTC's). The TSB involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the power control module (PCM) with...

    Does anyone..........

If you are thinking about reprogramming your PCM with this update, do not be thrown off by your car's build date and production number. (My late 97GTS had a 96 unit in it due possibly to being modified). Check the PCM's build date, then go by that units production date to determine if you want...

    VENOM 650R w/High RPM Flutter????????

Hi Todd, My 650R does the same thing. The engine will pull like crazy up to about 5800 RPM, but then the rev limiter seems to take hold. Really,I don't gain much by trying to exceed this point anyway. I have always suspected the early cutoff was part of the MoPar Performance Engine Controller...

    VGX?

I believe the "VGX". is the code name for the 2003 Gen III R/T. Check pages 28 & 29 in the new Fall issue of Viper Magazine.

    RedLine Water Wetter?

My experience has been a reduction of 3-5 degrees. More importantly, the coolant temperatures seem more stable. For more in depth information try www.redlineoil.com

    RedLine Water Wetter?

Quit a few of us Viper owners use the stuff. It seems to work reasonably well. About 2 bottles (24oz's) due the trick.

    Viper Fan Relay Meltdown !

Thanks Jon for the info. After the intermittent short in my A/C clutch relay that shut me down virtually all this spring, and 32000+ on my odometer, I am growing weary of Viper electrics. I am going to carry a spare relay (common to many of the systems)in my glove box along with fuses.

    RPM stays up

Hi Martin. Your hesitation and sputtering is probably a result of the restrictor. When I replaced the restrictor hose with the stock hose, the "cold" derivability issues mentioned above cleared up. I don't think this (high idle) problem is caused by Hennessey's work or design. There are cars...

    RPM stays up

Just to satisfy my own curiosity, when (mileage wise) did you folks start experiencing this idle problem? As for myself, I had trouble free operation for about 32,000 miles, of which 16,500 were driven after extensive modification to the heads, TB's, intake & exhaust manifold, cam, and ECU...

These cars attract more than women or looks

When you think about it, most of the vehicles on the road today are probably as "tall" as your 3 yr old 4X4. Most have a bumper height that is almost level with or higher than your wiper blades. Nasty thing is that a lot of these vehicles don't have mud flaps and hurl crap at us like a shot gun...

    RPM stays up

I too have this problem. I have tried just about everything to remedy this condition to no avail. I have replaced the idle speed motor, installed different computers, new intake gaskets, and even a vacuum restrictor to the idle motor. If you re-flash the computer, the problem disappears for a...

Beware! Drivers door hinge spring broke and chipped door

I have been through FOUR of these lousy hinges in three years & 30+K miles. Your door's alignment is critical for proper operation. Dodge designed the Viper door to swing on a single hinge, and a lousy one at that. Hope the new Gen III Vipers have a better design. Anyhow... Keep this hinge...
