HELP! 97 GTS, no AIR Conditioning, ideas?

"Be aware if you order a new factory part from Dodge they have bad stock. i.e. the usin gthe correct part number will get you the wrong part. Have someone open the box before shipping and verify that you get a controller that has a "snowflake" on it. Ultimately I had to go with a used part...

For all you that claim your car runs 180 or 190 ALL THE TIME

on the picture, the oil pressure show about 60psi and the car not moving/idling ( look at the speedo) so either this car has way more oil pressure than other or the engine was cold.

Can I damage my engine by driving at the track?

Good post. Another big advantage of a dry sump system on a purpose built race car is to lower the CG by having the engine sit much lower due to the shallowness of of the oil pan

Basic AMP draw study on 98 GTS

Correct, the evaporator is still cold and therefore the air blowing through it is still cooled. 10 to 15 hp seems to be a goo guess, on a low horsepower car,you can really feel a big difference when the compressor kick in.

Basic AMP draw study on 98 GTS

Your rpm's drop at idle seems more related to voltage than Amps. Low volts do a lot of weird things with computers, you should check the voltage at idle, with and without electrical load. yes. 1hp=764W is for real.

Basic AMP draw study on 98 GTS

Since he mention racing, don't you think the idea was that with no draw on the alternator he would be faster? Steve: Regarding the A/C cutting off at WOT What take of lot of HP is the compressor therefore at WOT the A/C compressor clutch disengage but the lack of airflow is simply due to a...

Basic AMP draw study on 98 GTS

This may answer some questions on what draws power from the battery and how much. I was supprised. I know from now on when I race someone I am turning everything off so my altermator does not steal any of my power. This blows my mind! You realy believe that a couple of HP make a difference on a...

My lights pulsate at night time???

I doubt that the volt gauge would react fast enough to show a very brief voltage drop or spike. You could connect a digital voltmeter to the cigar lighter circuit and see if the lights pulsation corespond to a voltage change. Whne you say that you don't use the A/C, in which position is the...

My lights pulsate at night time???

Do that happen with the A/C on or off? If the A/C is on is quite normal to have a brief voltage drop, and therefore a brief dimming of the lights, when the A/C clutch kick in.

I had to do mine years ago and decided not to change the hinge but just the check stap. basically i drilled out the rivet holding the 2 spring metal plate on both the car hinge and the new one, tapped the hole were the rivet was and bolted on the new spring metals. 170 degree thermostat ?

The statement on the website ( Our 170 degree thermostat allows the engine to operate cooler) is very misleading. A Tstat only control the minimum coolant temperature, not the maximum. Maximum coolant temperature is controlled by the BTU capacity of the cooling system.

Brake upgrade for Gen II. Recirculating fluid?

Hi Tom: hard to say since I did it at the same time than a major brake upgrade on my 69 race Mustang, 13" rotor, Wilwood 6 pistons calipers, air ducts, Motul 600, etc. Water cooling is easy and cheap to do, is proven to work (I have it on my Roush Mustang T/A) and can be dialed in by...

How Big a Job is a Battery Replacement on a GTS ?

I believe that a lot peoples think that by doing so, you're disconnecting the + side of the battery, beside the fact that, as Chuck said it's safer to do it at the battery, it's not even true since tjhere is another + connection just above the battery for the fuel pump and amplifier relays
