I'm putting the interior back together but didn't take it apart. So I basically have a bag of screws and trim pieces.
I have most of it figured out except for a couple of screws/locations.
For discussion, I'll define some terms:
There are 5 main perimeter trim pieces:
(1) Hatch rear...
If anyone has worked with T56's and this tag is not familiar, please let me know that because, frankly, I think the 11193 is a date code and this is not a Viper T56 tag.
We are trying to determine if the following identification tag came from a 96 GTS T56:
The tag is aluminum w/black paint.
It is 3.25" x .75" approximately with a bolt hole at one end.
There are 2 rows of numbers: (I've used periods between numbers to get the approximate spacing since html...
Re: Dyno HP #\'s, 3.55\'s vs 3.07\'s
It would be nice Dyno Jet had a way to vary its effective inertia for true back to back correlations run at the same time rate of change of rpm.
This guy builds rally cars and knows a lot about ground effects.
The car was black and to the casual observer, probably wouldn't have been that noticeable. However, here are the 2 things that he noticed:
1) It had massively wide rear tires. He is currently working on my GTS so he knows...
You can buy a like new stone chip free Viper with over 16k miles on it
I know this because that was the condition of the 2000 GTS I sold at 16k.
There is no magic to get NO stone chips. Simply stay hundreds of feet behind whatever you are following and NEVER, NEVER follow a big truck. Then...
(forgot to mention)
With a flat top piston, the only thing you have to worry about is quench but since Viper does not approach this like GM, it is not clear what they are up to. The extended reach plug is a clue. LS1 and LS6 do not use it.
So that leaves detonation grooves and accumulator...
If Venolia is still in business, they should be able to supply pistons at about 1/2 that price.
(that is if they aren't price gouging because its a Viper.)
I would give them the dimensions and say it was for a 318.

Well, from my perspective, going to VOI without a Viper is right up there with self mutilation.
Without my Viper there, the best I might muster is "auditing" whatever I can while staying at Motel 6.
The nice thing about centrifugals is that boost is proportional to the rpm**2 resulting in big boost when then engine is way past max BMEP which is a good idea with crap gasoline.
Any positive displacement supercharger runs out of breath just like an engine. There have been extreme designs...
...they are being bot by "ordinary" people who will actually drive them.
Already, I am seeing more Vipers on the road and that should increase.
Instead of people driving them 2-5k, they will be driven 10-15k per year which means there will appear to be 3-5 times as many on the road.
I think...
3 valve is a big improvement.
The intake is what really needs curtain help.
Exhaust is high pressure flow and not a problem like the intake.
3-valve also puts the spark plug in the center of the chamber which is a big improvement.
But the real bit is variable cam timing.
The first big...
LS1/6 Gen III will be replaced by 3-valve variable cam Gen IV.

"The 6.3-L version of the engine will produce 500 hp..."

I mentioned this incredible piece of road hearlier and was sad that NO ONE at VOI7 took the time to experience it... except for ME that is!
This guy didn't do so well.
With prices falling, regular people will be able to afford these cars.
Soon, all the Closet Queens will come out!
Who knows, with more presence on the street, there may be more interest in these cars.
I think the big question with the TT kits is do they have "altitude normalizing" or adjustable boost from in the cockpit?
There is nothing more sucky than driving at 9000 ft and loosing 1/3rd of your HP!

"...a bit over the speed I could handle...."
If you are in the habbit of driving your Viper anywhere near what IT can handle, you are either very talented or crazy.
First of all, when driving on public roads you have to maintain an "emergency maneuver kitty" incase some BOZO has his 5th wheel...
Don't laugh, something like that might work.
You keep opening stages as you lose bottle pressure so that no matter how low your bottle pressure is, you maintain relatively constant flow.
(Remember, a bottle heater simply cannot replace the heat as it is lost from boiling once so when you have...
I was thinking about how to solve this.
If I didn't have a lathe large enough to chuck the wheel and simple machine of a thin layer, I think I would chuck the wheel on the rear and turn it using the engine. Run a file over the area, and then polish with progressively finer sandpaper. Then...
