Who Sold Their Viper and Came Back After Owning somethiong Else ?

To me there isn't one car that covers it all. As much as I like my Viper, and probably wont ever sell it, there are times when I need to drive something else to get my fix. So for me its not a matter of replacing but rather complementing. Bigger garage is the answer. Matt

Ralph's white SRT Viper GTS in Indy

White looks great on the new body. Close second to the Orange. I really wish the grill/cross hairs were painted in the body color though. Looks a bit like someone that forgot to put their teeth in. Just a black hole. Different strokes and all that stuff....... Matt

    Viper TA High Res Pics!!

No question that this new design really looks better in bright, vivid colors. The orange is the the best one yet. It will be interesting to see what the 2014 line up will offer as far as some fresh colors. Matt

Shame on GM? For you Vette lovers!

Hmmmm ....and our Viper is ultimately controlled by Fiat (owns 58.5 %) Last I checked Fiat is another foreign company. I think they are looking to secure 100% of Chrysler Sure, maybe better European than Chinese, but really whats the difference ??? the new Viper is far from 'all American'...

New member's/non-owner's/prospective buyer's take on the Gen V

Bruce, Are you in a hurry ? Of course the guys that have put their money on one wants you to do the same. Fact is that so far we have got very varied feedback on this new Generation. Some great....some not so great. Seems like they are even trying to rectify some of as they are gearing...

Why I Hate Everything Gen V

Well, some of the guys that are in line for Gen 5 has made it perfectly clear that they have zero interest in the older generation cars......the ones who really stood out and blew the competition away. So as the Viper is getting softer around the edges and attracts a customer that wasn't...

    Chevy ups the Ante.

Well if that is the case, then I would say that they did go about this in a backwards sort of way. If they didn't have their suppliers lined up but rather making this something to deal with later, no wonder things got delayed. Its like when Chevy Chase went to wally world......would have been...

    Chevy ups the Ante.

Not disagreeing with your overall statement but there is no question that they knew that they would have to establish a new network of suppliers. You really think they went forward and designed a car and afterwards somebody casually thought that they may have to find someone to make these...

ok so its not a viper but it has a viper engine 2

I Love it.........very nice approach. Great work Matt

    Chevy ups the Ante.

Part 1: Not an argument....The guy in the market for a new Ferrari may not care.....but I am sure Ferrari cares, and since Ferrari and Chrysler is now owned by the same company, they are smart enough to make sure they don't shoot themselves in the foot. If a company owns a high end deli and...

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

Got an 06 as well and keeping my fingers crossed that I wont have the deal with any regulators at any point. You having zero issue at 20K is a good sign Matt

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

You missed my point as well. I was talking about the fact that you look at everything, top to bottom (every nut and bolt was just a way to put not actually referring to 'nuts and bolts') on a race car far more closely than most anyone would look at and continuously inspect a street car. You see...

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

Ok .....I will try one more time. I am saying that there could be a possibility that there is an issue. You driving your 06 all across the country, tracking it or whatever, doesn't say anything other than that Your car may be ok. Just like the airbag issue. It doesn't affect ALL the cars...

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

OK....I doubt either of you guys will bother considering the airbag recall then as well. It just took Dodge until now to figure that one out. Even though they consider it a fraction of a % its still a big enough deal to issue a recall Sure....it may never happen any of us, and I am not...

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

You may be right, but if there was a bad batch of these parts out there it seems like it would be better to be safe than sorry. Also consider that many accidents that may have been caused by a failure like this ultimately end up being blamed due to something else since once stuff starts spinning...

Totaled Viper 2 days after buying it...

Is it possible that the light swerve caused the knuckle to break and that was what ultimately made the car spin out of control ? I suppose it would be hard to prove what happened first but it appears that this type of rear end failure isn't the first Dodge, SRT, Chrysler or whatever they call...

    Motor Trend discusses controversy

There is so much I want to respond to in this post but I don't know where to start. 'If you don't have anything nice to say....don't say anything at all ...' comes to mind so I will just be quiet. Matt

    Motor Trend discusses controversy

You may be right. You may also find that the 2013 turns out to be the model year not to own as SRT will keep refining the Gen V and the '13 may be the one considered released a bit to soon, before everything was worked out.....happens all the time with 1st year models. Matt

    Fiat-Chrysler Buyout

This really makes me question all the flag waiving and cheering for the new Gen V. Fact is that with this buy out we are really loosing another All American car. I am a car guy and appreciate all great cars no matter what part of the world they are made in but to loose the Viper, one that has...

Anyone running iForged Imola Anthracite by chance?

I may be partial but.....I really like this body style so much more than the Gen V. That car just looks sweet....any way you look at it. Matt

    Delivery Delays

Sorry v10e....have to disagree with this statement. In the past, the fact that the Viper was a Dodge and subsequently (supposed to be) a bit easier and friendlier to get serviced by a Dodge dealer may have pointed a prospective buyer in that direction as opposed to an import. If the Viper is...

I HATE LED LIGHTS...designers, please stop the insanity!!

No I guess I dont grasp what you are saying because just a post above you mention that ' LED's are the new rave and everyone has to have them'. You are comparing them to spinners !!!!! That to me says you are considering them a fad. Then a bit further into your argument you seem to agree...

I HATE LED LIGHTS...designers, please stop the insanity!!

I like them as well. Good news is that for those that cant handle them.....there are plenty of Old cars available that use something other than LED. The LED's are here to stay. Don't see as being a fad that will go away. Matt

    09 ACR sold for 112,00.00 on Barrett-Jackson

The true supporters of the Vipers are those that are putting down the money to buy a Gen V Viper (No....I personally have not done that for a few reasons). Those people are responsible to the continued success of the brand/model. They put their money where it counts and hats off to them...

    09 ACR sold for 112,00.00 on Barrett-Jackson

Does our Vipers fall into this category ? I don't know of any other brand/model that has more 'special edition', 'first edition', 'final edition', 'Ltd edition', edition this and edition that. It certainly appears that there are many Vipers that doesn't have that 'tag' that are far more rare...
