Will this low profile jack work on my Viper??

This gets old very quick. After doing that for 5 years, I was happy to get a low-profile jack. If you rarely jack your Viper up, then the stacked boards method is doable, but if you do all your own oil changes, mounting of track tires, etc, etc, then you need a low profile jack.

    Vipers burning down?

You can solve this for less than a buck with a simple rubber hose of the right diameter - just stick it on the cap nipple and zip tie it so it empties below the headers. Not as elegant and bling, but it does both jobs of keeping the cap from rotating and venting the fluid. (Yeah, I have the...

    Anyone's heater not work?

Re: Anyone\'s heater not work? Did you check my posting (second one in the thread) about the HVAC vaccuum line? Its the same on the Gen I and Gen II engines.

    Changing RT-10 for GTS

Not sure why you're looking for a GTS, tho - if you're going to get rid of the '96 for a '97, remember that '97 RT's have windows and locks also, btw.

Anyone ever used a car broker?

I used Marv Rose ("dodgevipersforsale.com", I beleive, in Fresno, CA) for my current '00 RT which was out-of-state. I also went through my credit union, and they had no problem with an out-of-state car or out-of-state title. The only problem the deal ran into was that my credit union insisted...

    Squeaky clutch pedal?

There was also a known problem with '95 clutch pedal pivot point failure, and the '96 RT might have the same design. The squeak might be a warning that this is close to happening?

    Motivation posters...

I don't think there's a copyright on the format (as the comp coupe version of your posting asked), for instance, take a look at these "unmotivational" funny posters: http://www.benklaas.com/IMAGEBIN/unmotivational_posters/html/

Gotta see this! I dont know why but I want one - Mini V-8

Wasn't that at VOI5 in '99 (Vegas)?, in the vendor's tent at the track?

    Progressive insurance slight-of-hand

State Farm for 15 years, and they've always come through without *any* hassle when I needed them. They paid off what the current local market value of my '95 RT/10 (and perhaps more than I could have sold it for at the time), then gave me extra for the new clutch, $3k for "low mileage" (I...

Were to connect Battery Tender or Charger/Maintainer

Same place you jump the car from - the positive post is very clearly marked with a red cap just in front of the driver's footwell in the engine compartment, and the large bolt on the sill area directly below it is a fine ground. And, incidently, the word is "where", not "were".

    OBDII readers $40

I purchased mine from Roe, actually, and its identical to the one from Harbor Freight. I do completely agree with supporting Roe, but I don't think he's going to miss the $15 from this sale. As far as tech support, what tech support do you require for a OBDII reader?

    OBDII readers $40

I was perusing a Harbor Freight catalog, and they have the basic OBDII reader/code clearer on sale for $39.99, URL is: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=46030 (I'm not associated with them in any way, btw, just thought some people might be interested in what looks...

    Anyone's heater not work?

Re: Anyone\'s heater not work? Most likely your HVAC control vacuum supply line fell off the right side valve cover. Vacuum is needed to move the ventilation flaps to route air past the heater core; no vaccum = no heat. Look for a small stiffer-material tube (than you would normally see used...

wierd place for a parked viper, but great looking viper!

A Viper's been my daily driver for eight years. Black '00 RT/10 is my current daily driver unless I know its going to be raining (no need to wash the car more than I have to). I even live 6 miles from nearest Fremont city border, and I've been known to park the Viper at a local 7-11 every now...

Camera Mount for the Track - Help Please

If you had an RT/10, you can make one fairly easily that connects to the snaps on the back bulkhead and bolts through the holes in the "roll bar" (my camera is mounted in my avatar pic).

Will old 3 spoke rims fit on Gen II?

No, this is not true. Remember that later ('99-'02) Gen II's have 18" wheels, not the 17" wheels present on '92-'98 cars. Gen I three-spokes will indeed fit on Vipers up until the 2001 model year with ABS. I'm told that, as of 2001, there is an interference between a 17" wheel and a bolt head...

    RT/10 rear bumper finish

    Cognac interior pictures

A black interior looks nicer? Riiiiiiight  I agree than Cognac and a red or yellow car don't look good together, but in a dark car, I like it quite a lot. Every black interior car I've seen (and owned) has just looked, well, *cheaper* to me. To each their own.

    Any Bay Area Viper heads????

The Northern California Viper Club is extremely active, although I note that John has been falling behind getting the events up on our web site. As has been said, we do meet the first Tuesday of every month at Maggiano's in Santana Row, in San Jose, at 7:00pm. If you think you'll come, please...

My hard top rattles like crazy any more

What year did the hard top rear attachment method change? I know my 2000 doesn't require the removal of the "sport pad" like Gen I and early Gen II, and hence the "bolt backing out" comments would not exactly apply if I were to ask that same question. In my case, however, I *have* had one of...
